Records: [NES NTSC] A-Type

Thread in 'Competition' started by Kitaru, 24 Feb 2012.

  1. Does the leaderboard still updates lmao just asking

  2. Just bumped it up to 524,283! If it matters, haha.

  3. @Kitaru: when you updating the main table in the first post of this thread (and in the thread about the PAL version), you should also check @Phor's spreadsheets, because not all players report their record in this forum. Currently, the tables here are still out of date and cannot be relied on. I know it's more work, but it's worth spending more time for this.

If you can't update the tables yourself in a such a way, somebody can give @Phor the moderator permission so that he can edit your posts and modify the tables.

  4. finally got something to report here... a slight betterment of my early max PR... no betterment in my high score total though:

maxout at lvl 27 plus 1.55 lines:

  6. So the equation is:

    (999999-s)/v*t+l

Where s=pre-maxout score; v=value of tetris/burn; t=number of lines cleared to reach maxout; and l=number of pre-maxout lines.

    Is that right?

If so, I make Tyler P's 1.298 game (maxing out on Level 24) to have been at 186.744 lines (Level 24+6.744 lines). That's two lines behind Harry.

  7. I made a little excel calculator to figure all that out; you just have to enter the pre-maxout state and number of lines cleared to reach maxout:

Also tacked on a final score calculator for non-game genied games. Can't attach excel file here, but it's on google drive. Or for final score there's this very pretty one, made by EricICX.

I'm slowly coming back from the PAL version. I started playing the NTSC version for several days and just established a new PB from level 18. For now, I will stay with this version and I will probably play it until I get the max out. I hope it will happen soon. ;)

This is the first time I've come to kill screen. Good RNG. Max out is so close.

  15. Why has my score not been updated? I've uploaded 2 higher scores since my last score on the leaderboard. Do I need to upload a video or something?

  16. See the date of the last edition of the first post in this thread. The table has not been updated at all for over two months. That's why.

  17. Why don't you start a new thread with updated scores or ask Kitaru and offer help with the table?

Starting a new thread seems a bit of an overreaction. I'd just ping @Kitaru to get his attention that the thread needs updating.

  19. I was busy with a move and the holidays, so I haven't had a lot of time to spare to go through and update things on this leaderboard. I've tried to enlist help updating the spreadsheet that backs the score thread script a couple of times, but each volunteer usually drops off after one (or zero) updates and I'm the only one working on it again. I also think that a more scalable solution would be some sort of actual automated form everyone can fill out, or some sort of script that picks up score posts from here in a particular format, or something, but I haven't been able to work on that yet either.

If someone wants access to the Google Sheet that I use to generate the thread, let me know and we can coordinate something. Otherwise, I'll probably be able to get to it again as soon as January rolls around.
