What. The. Crap. A New Rule To increase the safety of the Nintendo Nsider Forums, we will be implementing a new rule next week: Do Not Link to External Websites in Your Signature or Profile. It is against the rules to advertise or link to a website not operated by Nintendo in your signature or profile. It is OK to link to another thread on Nsider or a Nintendo-run website, but please do not link to any other website in your signature or profile. However, if you wish to link to an external site in a post, that is OK as long as it is appropriate and on topic. Why are we making rule? We want to make the Nintendo Nsider forums as safe as we possibly can. We've discovered that personal websites frequently contain private information, so to protect the privacy of our members we want to avoid promoting these websites. I want to reiterate that we are not prohibiting you from linking to an external site in your regular posts, if it is on-topic and appropriate. We just find it very difficult to monitor what sites are being advertised and linked to in signatures and profiles. I know that there is currently a "Homepage" field in everyone's profile, but we will be removing that field in the near future. In the meantime, please do not advertise your personal website in that field. We will begin enforcing this rule one week from today, on Tuesday September 5. Thanks in advance for your cooperation with this new rule. They think this is going to cut down on spam? Holy shit. Now that there's not a field for mods to say "put it there, don't make topics about it", it's going to be a fucking mess. What the hell is wrong with people.
But that doesn't make it safer in the least. They're buying into this Dateline/Myspace hype is what's going on. Or their lawyers are. Either way. As an aside, can someone give this kid real strategies? http://forums.nintendo.com/nintendo/boa ... e.id=28129 I'm sick of hearing "build up and slip two long things down the side that what i do".
I have Brain Age and "play" it regularly, but I don't see it being much help for a Tetris novice. I think he'd be much better off simply practicing vs. CPU until he gets the basics down.
I do it, too, and that's what's infuriating. I wish I could tell him "Listen dick-swatch, it doesn't matter if my brain age is fucking 14, arguably how old your mom was when she had you, you cess pool of incoherence. Building a pile and then dropping two I pieces isn't a strategy, it's elementary school tetris that you can grab from the manual that I'm sure you didn't read which is why inevitably in the next few posts you're going to start a topic asking what a T-Spin is. GTFO of the forum."
part of me knows that t-spins are actually complex and interesting but another larger, better part of me hates them so fucking much that it is willing to send spammy myspace camgirl advertisements to that other part of me if it means preserving the simplistic perfection that is tetris.
The Tetris Worlds manual mentions T-spins. The manual of The New Tetris mentions "spin moves," which are similar but evaluated differently.
I missed this thread somehow.... I'm still a Sage (big deal), but I'll always have this "l33t" memory:
Just get 410 more posts. It's not that hard if you hit some other forums, particularly power on. I used to quickly go through Gameplay Help for Newcomers, Legacy Systems, DS Games, etc and look for threads that I could add to.
Exactly. There's such a high level of stupidity, that even fake one's like the one I posted on T-spins are thought to be genuine.
NSider: Me, Rosti, Phydeaux, very occasional Billmaan, even less frequent Tepples, and a bunch of 14 year-old morons. Fun.
And Sully is the only Sage that I don't want to pummel into the ground. Mostly because I envision that his Sagin' was a result of Grey or the like going "Hey, want me to refer you to the Sage selection committee?" with Sully being all like: "Sure, that'll be fine. Whatever." Whereas every other Sage I've ran into is in the opposite side of the spectrum which is akin to being a 14 year old NOA cocksucker that is convinced that the rank holds some sort of power or are constantly scheming to make it so with no ability to do so. The rank doesn't make them pillars of the community. COMPUTERS is a Sage, for crying out loud, and I swear that the boy has nothing upstairs. I guess this is why I've been hanging out at Outsider in conjunction with that other mess, so that I have a place where I can regularly bitch about stuff like this. Hell, they escalated me to an Administration position within a month of being there. We've accomplished more than a few things, though. Like the guys with the "Atheist" sigs were getting constantly harassed by NOAs and the guys with the "Christian" tags were being left alone, I wrote up a form letter for all the guys and gals from Outsider to hit Greg with and a mod that was on our side alerted Andy to the double-standards that have been going on, and so now finally no one can have that sort of content in their sig. I just don't see where they all get off on their bizarro decisions. At least I can edit my own posts now. >
