The oldest unlicensed Tetris clone?

  1. Hey all, I've been digging through a lot of early Tetris history, and I think I managed to track down a contact email for the author of this early (possibly the earliest?) unlicensed Tetris clone for the ZX Spectrum, copyright dated 1986:

So far he's confirmed he wrote the program, and I'm coming up with a list of things I'd like to pick his brain about - how he originally accessed and played Tetris, what sort of machine and programs he used for development and distribution of his own version, where he was living/working at the time, and what the software/computing culture was like at the time in Russia.

Can anyone think of any other questions worth including?

Also- I'm still trying to track down the author/origin of this one (Andi/Andic Software?), no luck yet:

Anyone know of any other early, pre-Andromeda/Mirrorsoft/Sphere/Spectrum Holobyte/BPS Tetris clones?

  2. Nice find !

You could ask whether he had any difficulty porting Tetris into ZX Spectrum.
