  1. arika doesnt know wtf they're doing with this game anymore. sad

  2. I've also come around to the view that multipreview+hold is just inherently worse than classic Tetris. Like I've always felt this way but I think it's a lot more impactful than I had originally thought.

Like it's really hard to get to where you can take in the whole queue and utilize hold effectively, but once you can, is there any strategy left? Once you can plan for and rearrange the next few pieces at will it's just a reflexes game, no? That's why TGM4 is so gimmick-heavy. But for classic games technical proficiency is only half of it, you still need to be on your toes, stacking in preparation to accommodate the largest variety of placements...

  3. oh how wrong you were, me from 17 years ago

Bold of you to imply that they ever did.

  5. For all the shit I might give the game as a whole I still think Master (Rounds) is a pretty well-thought out mode, and Konoha's pretty cool too. But the metagame of Normal modes is just so unappealing to me, even compared to promotion exams...

Waiter, I'd like more grading systems that are just the number of sections you passed please =3=

  7. I think the original set of modes are collectively pretty solid. shiranui was a flop, but normal, asuka, konoha and master all did something distinct and novel and cool. i've never cared for asuka easy or asuka hard or any of the new stuff under the "normal" banner. i don't really mind that they exist, though; i just ignore 'em for the most part.

  8. absolute eye has a lot of Problems, but i'll stand by my single-sentence steam review: this is the best tetris game on steam

    AgentBasey and ame like this.
  9. hard to argue with that tbh

  10. wait you guys don't like ANIME TETRIS? thats my favorite tetris that i play every single day.

    ame likes this.
  11. Why was Shiranui a flop? I'm having fun with it currently, and I don't recall any other Tetris games with a competent CPU opponent. The later levels also pose a very real challenge, AFAIK.

For me at least the mode eventually just devolves into gambling; I can beat a higher tier if I'm willing to sit there resetting every thirty seconds until the bot finally plays sub-optimally enough for me to get those two matches. You can probably get way more mileage out of it if you're actually good and are a fan of guideline versus, but alas I am neither.

  13. what ame said. if you get to a high enough tier the bot is just way faster and smarter than you and you can't win. gotta keep resetting til an rng misdrop happens. admittedly i've never liked guideline versus anyway
