I'm going to guess No. That blockbox run was downright pleasant. Go ahead and watch it for yourself. Also my 10:38.33 can be found on youtube -- you'll know it because there's no audio.
After playing Texmaster a lot lately i think its really more difficult to reach GM in TGM1. Im not sure why that is, but anyway: I managed to get my third GM Grade today. (The first i made a screenshot of ) But there is still a lot to improve.. a lot of singles there
Can't read my, can't read my, no he can't read my poker face! Okay this is part one of the healing process I guess.
I initially sung it in my head to the tune of "I want my MTV" until I remembered what they're overplaying on the local R&B station lately. But with Jamie Foxx and T-Pain abusing Auto-Tune to blame it on the alcohol, shouldn't R&B stand for "robots and beat-machines"?
Not much better but it knocks me up the ranking slightly. Going to try hard to get a sub 12 now I think. Need to lock more aggressive!
Here's my 9:57:70 video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fN7XvxoqcBE&fmt=18 Sorry about the lateness guys, but I took the time to improve my video processing pipeline. The improvements are subtle, but it's definitely looking better than ever. Now it runs at 60fps instead of 59.94!
Can you be more specific jago? If there's something especially bad about my play of course I want to know. Do you see this same problem in my X360 contest replay?
I noticed something for the 0-300 part, but I am not sure it is objectif due to the fact I use mame. C_T you do a better time than me at 500 thanks to you better stacking, but I still think that I can place the pieces slightly faster in releasing DOWN between each tetrimino.. How can I say, at the moment the piece is locked, I release DOWN, and I come back on DOWN right after the end of the ARE. I am almost sure it allows to drop slightly faster the pieces you want to place just under the initial position, without any side move.. If I am right about this, it is probabily a penality feature programmed to punish the player who stay pressed on DOWN. Then I don't see any problem for the 20G part, it is perfect, good rythm with few tiny speed decreases to avoid mistakes.. then the last minute is mostly a question of finesse with timings..And you lost 20 secondes maybe with mistakes..
Didn't Nightmareci confirm this? Soft drop and normal gravity interact in strange ways. You only save a frame though, and I'm not sure if you could time it consistently enough. I don't know what the window is for getting the extra row. Ask Nightmareci, I suppose. EDIT: I guess I had it backwards. You can _extend_ the number of frames it takes to reach the bottom through weird interactions between the 1G soft drop and 1G normal gravity.
Hooray, first time i reach gm in less than 12 minutes After a lot of practicing sudden in texmaster it got a lot more comfortable to play at 20g speeds. i wonder if im going to get a 10:xx time soon.. or maybe not
I was aiming for no tetrises and a grade as low as possible in Texmaster Normal mode. I had to play super slow to do it. Clearing no tetrises and getting GM like colour_thief is impossible for me though. That requires real skill. ' I found a paper on which I printed the leaderboard last year dated 4th of May 2008 (so just after I joined this thread). There were only 51 players at that time of which 31 had the GM grade. Now there are 73 players and 46 GM players. This is how the leaderboard looked like: Code: 1. GM 10:03:08 jago 5. GM 10:58:06 matt_hatter 10. GM 11:39:xx cyberguile 15. GM 12:01:53 Rosti_LFC 20. GM 12:37:70 Kitaru 25. GM 13:12:73 deepdorp 30. GM 13:25:30 Billmaan ... 51. S1 04:42:81 Ai To be in the top 30 at the moment you have to play a minute faster than before.
Good job it was on Texmaster. On the real TGM1 the 15 minute setting would have killed you pretty rapidly.
I figured on IRC that it probably wouldn't have a 15 minute kill timer seeing as you're expected to be playing for about that long anyway.
