I will aim for S4 to get my revenche, but this may take a while. I don't think I can react within a few days like last time. Thanks for the challenge anyway. If it wasn't for you I wouldn't even consider aiming for S4 right now.
Nice competition going on. Made me go for a good time myself. S9 at 9:56:95. probably one of my fastest S9. But then there was still 2 and a half section left to play, I died at level 950 because of making mistakes after mistakes, just to keep the timer happy. My keyboard allows me to hold only 2 keys simultaneously! That's a record! The third key will lock all other keys out. Go FUJITSU SIEMENS!
I have one of those old USB keyboards that have a key to shutdown the computer on it. Not very friendly to my fingers but will work
Congratulation statikeffeck! Nice to see more people get the GM rank. And you did it in style too! Immediately under 13 minutes. Nice! I was wondering a few things. What is the lowest rank someone had at level 999? Is this always S9 or do you think it's possible to finish the game with an even lower rank? It'd be very interesting to see someone finish the game with an as low as possible rank. I bet this must be very difficult as well or am wrong? The other thing I wanted to ask is about the number of people with the GM rank in the different TGM series games. I think I read somewhere that there are 10.000 TGM GM in Japan. is this correct? Currently there are 33 people with the GM rank over here. Do you think there are people with the GM rank besides those that are listed over here on the leaderboard? I hope I can get S4 this weekend.
I remember a run in the past where I only got S9 because I held out for a Tetris at the end and it pushed me over. Would have been S8 otherwise I think. I don't think it'd be too difficult to just clear singles the whole time and get a pretty measly rank at 999.

Thanks everyone! I've been doing a lot of reading on the forums and on the wiki. I played a little bit a couple of years ago but not much. Now that I have a proper stick, it's become a slight obsession. Yeah, I know what you mean. I'm just starting to use my Sanwa.. It sucks, I still need to replace the buttons, but I haven't had time. The buttons that were on the stick sometimes don't register presses if not hit perfectly square...

Lol. So just finished up a session and am currently stuck at S4. I usually solidly build tetrises up untill about the mid-400's, then it goes downhill. Oh well, maybe tommorow. Yes, I've changed my initials.....again.
Is it the gravity change back down to 3G that messes you up? I usually ease off (not completely) on some manual locking in the 300-500 region to make sure pieces end up where I want them and to make my DAS count.
DumbledorsArmy, if you're still experimenting with initials anyway, how about DDA? Seems more logical to me than D_A
Very imprssive DumbledorsArmy. You seem to be getting S5 easily and you can survive quite a while in 20G too. What grade do you have most of the time when you start the 300-400 section? I'm glad my S5 mastering time was exceptionally good the first time. If you have a great run you can probably get S6 soon. I think I'll be able to get S6 or even S7 in the short term after which I'll be probably stuck for a long while until I master 20G. I believe achieving S6 before level 500 is possible and if I manage to survive till about level 650-700 even S7 is possible. This is how my Grandmaster Ranking currently looks like: Like I mentioned before I didn't play seriously since I obtained the S5 rank.
