Congratulations! It looks like you've been close for a little while now, so it's good to see you finally got it...now...onto a second? =) ~EI
Yes, my goal is to have the rankings page show 3 Gm's. Basically, the question hasn't been "can I beat 13:30?" it's "can I survive all the way to 999?" because I already had a pretty good idea of how to play from my Heboris experience, it was just having to adapt to no Hold and floorkicks.
Congratulation rednefed! It's great to see that your hard work has paid off! It hasn't been that long since you started playing so I think it's absolutely amazing. Any new objectives after obtaining the GM rank in TGM? I noticed just now in the post you wrote with 20G tips that there was a question. Is it aimed at me? If so I'll try to look at it later.
Thanks for all the congrats, guys. I'm working on getting my time down, especially in the earlier sections. It's now time attack, not survival/score attack - I usually hit S9/126k at levels 750-850; survival to 999 after that isn't always guaranteed. Ai: have you tried Heboris practice mode with infinite lock time? If you have the C++ version, go to practice mode, use HEBORIS rotations, and set the following: Fall speed: 120 for 2G, 180 for 3G, 240 for 4G, 300 for 5G, 1200 for 20G. ARE: 25 (TGM1) or higher, so you can think about and execute IRS Lock: 99. this will require you to manually lock by pressing down to spawn the next piece DAS: 16 Line Clear: 40 Next pieces: 1, randomizer Memory4 With this, you can quickly find out what's possible, what isn't, and start pulling off twists that you may have never considered in real-time play. (And once you're armed with the knowledge, you can apply it to the actual game!)
Late-night session while I was waiting for something to upload: Gm @ 11:52:98 I know I can do far better but it puts me under 12 minutes at least.
Thank you! Everyone's support really motivates me to give it my all. I will get the GM rank eventually I promise! My current objective is to get at least S6 this summer.
Code: ##--rednefed---------------Gm - 999 @ 12:12:71 - 06/07/08 Ha ha! I knew I could get out under 13 minutes, but I was pretty surprised when I actually looked at the timer.
I've beaten both my TGM1 and TAP records today, the latter of which I beat twice. This has been a pretty damned good day.
I'm now motivated to get my spot back by improving my mastering time or maybe even by moving up a rank. I hope you are prepared for what's coming! I'll see what I can do before the end of the weekend... And congrats on your recent improvement mushroom and everyone else!
Well mufunyo here is my response to your little provocation. And a little sooner than I expected. I hope when you said on the IRC channel that you smashed even the record in your post above that it was really a SIGNIFICANT improvement!!! Now show me your better time! Unfortunately it's not yet an S4, but I'm slowly getting there. I got S1 before level 200 and achieved S3 near level 300 for the first time. I'm getting used to the speed between level 300 and 400 at the moment. Now I'm struggling with the speed just after level 400. Well actually I need to be able to keep my cool. As always I got excited after achieving S3 and began making some serious mistakes when I started dreaming of the S4 rank. My high gravity training is finallly showing some results though. Also this performance was achieved one day after I started using LOst's plugin, which makes TGM react a lot better after level 300. It now feels almost like Texmaster. But in Texmaster I managed to get the S3 rank without even trying hard and I somehow survived until level 544. And this just after a few tries last weekend. I can now safely say that I'm better than before I switched hands 2 weeks ago. I'm going to keep training under high gravity and make a few more attempts for the S4 rank in the near future. By the way this was played today.
