1163 @ 5:20:26 Very minor difference from my previous PB, but I think I've improved overall -- I can reach level 700 almost every single game. My motivation to get better has slowed for the past couple months, but I hope this is just the beginning.
Very nice! IMO the difference between a 700 and 1100 run is pretty insignificant, so you can consider your 700+ games to be roughly on par with the ones where you reach 1100. The last wall (and it's a serious brick wall) you'll hit before 1300 is handling 1200 speed which is roughly 1.5x as fast as 1100 speed. For what it's worth, I don't recommend practicing starting from 1200 in Tex. You're better off starting from 1100 or 1000 as it's almost impossible to just suddenly start at 1200 speed and lock in a viable stack shape. It's also better for survival to try and clear as many small line clears as possible in 1200 in order to increase the time between pieces, so keep that in mind. Some might say that's bad advice because it's the opposite of what you would do for time attack, but I wouldn't worry about optimizing 1200-1300 until you're within a few seconds of the WR.
Thanks for the advice! Especially since this just happened: 1214 @ 05:20:58 I was playing on fire today and banged out multiple 11XX games in the span of 30 minutes. My hubris started catching up with me as it took another hour (of fending off my steady decline) to finally get this.
Oh man, if you were not that high when entering 1200 you could have gone deeper in the last section. Very nice game and quite fast as well. You can definitely do it and add it to this haunted ranking. I was the last to complete it and it was 3.5 years ago...
Not too great yet, I've mostly been focusing on Normal for the past 6 months. But now that I got GM, I've really been starting to shift my attention to the other modes. Special Ti: S5 in 5:59.75 (Level 593) Sudden Ti: Level 160 in 1:17.91
Nice! Getting to 500 before 7 minutes in Special is good, so that's some pretty gud time. Not sure if Texmaster stops you if you're above that time limit.
New personal best, with an S10 out of nowhere! I finally feel confident in my abilities. S10, Level 1050, with 4:29:51. Here's the video in case you wanna see it happen:
MO @ 06:27:35 Entered the credit roll with an S8 I was destroying the credit roll when practicing, it took quite a few tries to recreate that success during a run.
MM @ 06:32:53 I grinded harder today than I ever have in the past half year. I was just a hair away last night and had to do it. The main game was pretty subpar -- I entered the roll with an S7, but I somehow made it all work anyway.
Yesterday I got my first ever S11 for Shirase. An insane game that not only broke my personal best, but also features THREE Gold STs. I pushed myself to the limit, and emerged more triumphant than I'd ever been. Perhaps one day, I can push myself even farther, and get that incredible, amazing S12.
So, in a couple of weeks, you got from the suprise to get close to 1200, hoping with modesty that you could one day reach it, 6 weeks later you fail close to S13 with the same time made by DIGITAL, one of the fastest and most skilled player of the US.... So you are a cheater, or your game as a framerate problem which makes it run slower. At this state I don't accept it unless you record a 1250 with your hands, or unless someone that I trust see you passing 1200 in real during a meeting.
