I don't see how this is any different than not regulating the size or type of monitor, or the controller interface. I don't think it's worth getting upset over. I mean, personally I'd want to restrict all the records to being done with a joystick on a 29 inch CRT. But realistically, I'd rather have open rules and a filled leaderboard. Probably the best example of this is solo Doubles, where the interface is a pretty big part of the gameplay and the issue is closer to dance pad versus keyboard in DDR games. I prefer to keep things open and inviting. For people who care about the variations in play setups, they can look at a leaderboard and filter it appropriately. Nobody is hoarding their secret methods or anything. We are all playing by slightly different rules but we're very open about what we're doing and everyone is free to play within the variations.
I linked to the Termino Velocity pack in the Texmaster thread before. Though I decided to remove the link when I was sent a Youtube notice that warned me about using licensed music. No actions were going to be taken apart from the fact that ads could be shown next to the videos that used the licensed content. In the post where I advertised the pack it still says where you can find it. What I will do is ask DIGITAL for permission to post the pack where people can easily find it. We could also post an altered version without background music and other tweaks like removing the level x99 chime in the modes where it doesn't belong etc. EDIT: I also want to add that Texmaster is in my eyes no more than a practice tool. If you customize it or use another customized version to improve your play in the real games I don't mind. I could break 600k in Novice mode, but who cares? I get sub 11:30 in Normal, reason to prove that I can do the same in TGM. Personally I think the records achieved in the program have little value compared to the ones I obtain in the TGM games. Don't get me wrong it's great software that I have used more than the TGM games, but in the end it just gives you an indication of your skills nothing more. What Kevin needs to do now is go out there and do it on Ti. And I have little doubt that sooner rather than later he will confirm this amazing performance. EDIT: I see the first post was hijacked. While you're at it you could add DIGITAL's most recent record too. Code: DIGITAL --------- MV 999 5:17:73
Whyyy!!!! TWF, you're way more consistent than I am. I'd actually consider you the better player(for now ).
Maybe, but those section times are far beyond my reach for the moment. I'm nowhere near getting <30 seconds on every section.
kx5, that's a remarkably fast time, you could ease off on the locking for an easy break into what's probably level 600-700+...
Getting to 1000 is very easy if you can break the 500 time and play at 600 speed. kx5, you should not underestimate your time. I still have trouble playing 0-500 as fast as you do sometimes, and I'm in the 1200s now.
I'm just a lowly NDS_TGM 20G player trying to prove he can play Tetris with the big boys. I can do MUCH better than this. I think I can probably get to 800 soon. I can get to 1,000 on the DS one, but I know it's much slower. Special Ti I really hate level 200. I try to play it like 20G expecting pieces to get stuck and they don't so I misdrop and it makes me angry and slows me down : ( I wish the entire game was 20G. But... a slow 20G since sudden Ti is too fast for me right now. Edit: nvm, I checked the wiki.
For now I sent you a pm with a link to the files. Hopefully I will get permission soon to post the files on TC. EDIT: I have DIGITAL's permission to link to his files. Other people are also free to upload it. And if the pack is altered in some way you have to be specific about the changes made. I will post DIGITAL's links in the Texmaster thread later if it's okay with everyone. Maybe a mod can put the pack where everyone can easily find it.
Just before you leave from my house in London Kevin, you told me something I did not really believe, and actually you were so right.. I understand now why you are improving so fast. I think I will laugh soon..Oh yeah.
