Supposedly... until there were mentions of people getting the same piece 3 times in a row... I took a guess at 14 bag (the only currently known non-history randomizer that will do it consistently enough to be noticeable) and calculated that it will happen about once every 6 sprints. But then there was an edit on the wiki that said that it's not 14 bag...
That was the PASS/FAIL for the exam, to promote to GM. The gold one (which is where it lands) means pass.
I see. I'm fairly certain that I would've had a heart attack if I got that far only to have some roulette stop on "FAIL" and then telling me I passed.
I haven't watched these yet, but if the titles are accurate...they'll be worth it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CoYXXaZgv2w Shirase orange S13: 4:48.98 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MzD-mnvecNg&NR=1 Shirase green S13: 4:27.58 (?!) *edit* Uh, ok, no typos there. Also note that NEITHER makes it on the top score list except for the day (and they're not even #1 there).
That sub-4:30 is amazingly fast. It's just a shame that he comes unstuck and fails to finish the end roll. The other video is also very good, but I think it really gets interesting at the end roll again... 4:27.58 beats the previous best time I've heard of (4:28 by AYA). But yes, a big at it being only today's second best time...
Regarding the part that's a shame: YES. It's almost one of my pet peeves; I've seen a couple of really good Shirase videos like a 4:47 flat (I think) by I forget who, but then...there's a fail on the credit roll. It's just annoying that such a great video ends that way. Actually, part of me like the 4:48.98 better because of the credit roll...
How do you register and download Tetris Online, anyways? I tried to sign up on the page, but all it led me to was a Japanese telephone number.
Hmm, from jin8's ranking list, it says that AYA is at the top with 04:23:08. But yeah, it's crazy to think that this video is not even the best out there.
You couldn't do me a favour, could you? Any chance you can play the "marathon mode" as fast as you can, and make a video of it? I only heard of his 4:28. I didn't know he did it 5 seconds faster since then...
TGM3 Master GM on Nicovideo: http://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm1012570 Arika uploaded it also: http://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm1031408 Guess which one has over 20000 comments...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MzD-mnvecNg&NR=1 Shirase green S13: 4:27.58 (?!) In my own opinion a shirase 0 >1300 is not impossible in sub 4min. no doubt this is a great play but we definitly see a lot of slow down phase resulting from stacking error. He also prefer to play secure by stopping manual lock before entering 1200+ section. But i'm not speculating about 1301 conditions. Just about pure performance. - - - - Official ARIKA video Gm is quite impressive. Simply coupled with the MasterM in 7:15.03 performance, we can start to speculate that Main requirement is focused on the invisible staff roll. I was really astonished when i saw first time manual locking on TGM3 invisible staff roll. but from the TGM2 Master mode green/yellow line Gm difference, by speculating on the same kind but harder requirement on TGM3, locking may become important. With fog dispersal, i suppose that more and more Gm players will appear in the next 6 month...
