Tournament: Tetris Party Tournament (Wii)

Thread in 'Competition' started by lee n, 19 Oct 2008.

  1. I don't the garbage imbalances ruin Tetris DS. It's put there to place a handicap on stronger players, by giving them harder garbage.
I never noticed it happening to me in games where the ratings where equal, and if it did it'd be a small number of times and it'd generally go both ways.

  2. Well excuse me. The topic was wandering anyway. At least i didn't make an ass of myself by going off like that.

Besides... Fuck mode is real! And i'm sure that it has a hand SOMEWHERE in the world of tetris party. When i find out where, i'll let you know. And thanks for calling me a noob. I couldn't already tell that i was based on how long i have been playing tetris and when i signed up on tetrisconcept. I need asses like yourself to really understand how much i suck.

And to the guy above, i definately have noticed this happening to me when i play players ranked with or above myself

If you take time to look at the top DS screen you're bound to lose anyway [IMG]

  4. - Again, I want to apologize for the way I reacted: yes, it was exaggerated [IMG]
    - However, I do want to notify that I found it rightly to say something about it. You could have made a new topic about it or something.
    - About calling you noob: don't take offence of it please...it was only meant as a joke, dude. What I meant to say:
ofcourse sometimes there are situations where some player might have a litte advantage...but that will also occur to you sometimes. When you get a bit more experienced, you don't even really notice it or you can find good solutions for the crappy garbage. I disagreed with ''that they require you to clear them one line at a time''
In any case, it isn't a reason to complain about...certainly not against your opponent: I'd find it disrespectful and that's why I called it ''noob''.

[I really didn't know you would take it so personally...dude! How could I really mean it if I have NEVER seen you play? And I'm not that good with tetris compared to hundreds others here [IMG] ]

I'd suggest to just forget it and bury the hatchet...no hard feelings.

Also, let us stop this discussion...else it would really be off-topic [IMG]
I'd suggest you can contact me at #tetrisconcept at quakenet on IRC....or by PM or something, if you want to talk to me.

  5. I disagree with this, i think most skilled players glance at their opponents field very often. This is in order to determine what to do according to the situation, such as whether or not to send lines, wait and counter-garbage, or start skimming.

  6. True.. We are now all talking about TDS. Maybe there should be a TDS specific thread? I call not it on making that thread

    And consider the hatched burried

But it's still fuck mode, even if its in my favor, itwould just be fuck mode to the other player!

During line clear delay, what is there to do in Tetris DS other than look up or in Tetris Party other than to look to the side?

It's too bad I don't have a local opponent at my strength; otherwise, we could do some research to see if "fuck mode" (which I'll define as a short-term imbalance in garbage dirtiness) exists in Tetris Party.

it does exist. You do two tetris in a row, your opponent gets a perfect one column stack of garbage, which they tennis back at you leaving you with multiple garbage rows.

if you find yourself in fuck mode, then try trying harder, and then fuck mode won't be so fucking bad. you might even make the other player say "fuck die fuck!"

what i mean is, it's an opportunity to push yourself harder to improve, and if you don't take that opportunity then you'll always lose in these situations. if you keep trying then eventually you'll win consistently regardless of the messiness of your garbage, and you won't notice how messy it actually is. you're never going to win every game though.

  10. Encouraging words, jujube, no doubt about that. And i do believe there are signs of fuck mode in tetris wii, but i'll have to test it. Anyone interested in playing TP or TDS tonight? Jujube? iphys? anyone? I'm trying to get rid of my thick southpaw style of play and need some critiqing

hi Everyone, Im new here. Finding it difficult to find my way around the site. I registered in hopes to find a Tetris party group or something like it. I know I just picked a thread and posted. Maybe someone can just point me in a direction. I think im pretty good, I have had a 9500+ rating in battle mode(no items). I only achieved that from playing terrible players, otherwise its nearly impossible. I'd like to meet some players and get that rating down to 7000 (where it should be). Thanks for reading, and sorry for interupting.

howdey tetris dad, there are a couple of us playing on tetris party. look for the TP friend code thread and add your code.
i'm just at 8,000, but i simply gave up playing random matches on TP after a couple weeks. there really isn't much competition
hopefully they figure out a way to thwart the disconnectors during the next tourney.

there is also block box for multiplayer, you'll find links to that site here as well.

  14. Wifi battles are too annoying to play on TP. You wait 10 minutes to get a match that usually disconnects or you play an opponent who isn't worth playing because they are not any good.

lets host our own TP tourney, Battlemode, we'll need 8 or 12 players to agree on a date & time, post a bracket of round 1 matchups, then the loser posts on a thread (each matchup consists of lets say best out of 7?) lets do this! we need to make this happen!

Ive not been having any success with friend codes that have been posted? anyone have any idea why? my wii accepted 1 of 4 i entered, then how does it work ? do i need to meet a friend in a room or???? Thanks

  16. To battle people you friended you need to log on and host a room. When one of your friends see that you are hosting online they can join in on your game. I don't think there is a way to see what friends are online without checking to see if they are waiting for a battle.

you will actually see your friend is online if they are playing random.
however you need to plain ahead so your friend knows you open a room.

i play TP very very rarely, after the tourneys are over i probably wont touch it. I have other options to play.

you can use your wiimote with your computer if your computer has bluetooth. check out glovepie (pc) or wiiji(mac)

  18. stupid confirmation code system... i forgot to submit the code for field climber.. its double frustration: the time i spent to get a acceptable field climber run was a frustrating time, and now i am frustrated that i missed to submit that stupid code, and now i probably wont winn the wii-points.

im skipping the last round of stage racer, i'm good already.

not many people are finishing the rounds this time. If you can net 2500 you should be golden.

I'm at about 2700 for the first three rounds.

  20. It shouldn't be that hard to get your wii points. If I recall correctly someone said after the first tournament that they received score for one of the rounds they forgot to submit but that may have been due to an error in the submitting system.
