WOW. duel mode looks very creative. and seems they got a bunch of interesting modes there. and they are only showing 10 out of 18 in the screenshots?!!? damn..
actually there's a much earlier dos russian game tht has a little russian guy wandering around in the bottom (about 2=3 blocks high), and you have to get him up to the top of the screen without squashing him. I'll be damned if I can find it though...
the update looks awesome, i can't wait... two questions: 1. does anyone know if it will have online rankings/stats/leaderboards? 2. they say its coming this fall/autumn... can anyone predict a date? thanks
Honestly though, they don't know shit. And you know why? The developers of the game don't know shit about the release either. I don't know if you heard what happened last week with the Wii Shopping Channel, but let me recap. Not one, not two, but three totally unrelated developers were all saying (with official press releases and all) that their games would be released Monday the 4th of August. You had Capcom saying that Mega Man were going to be released, you had Hudson saying that Ys Book I and II were going to be released, and you had SNK Playmore saying that Samurai Shodown II were about to be released. Then Monday came and none of these titles were released, Nintendo went a completely different direction with Sonic the Hedgehog 1 for Master System, Splatterhouse II for Genesis and Wild West Guns for Wii Ware. You simply cannot know the release dates of games on the Wii Shopping Channel ahead of time, not half a week ahead of time - let alone a couple of months ahead of time. Anyone claiming that they know something that far ahead of time is a liar, or gravely misinformed. You'll know about about the release when Nintendo themselves release a press release about the update, which is the day of the update nowadays.
Nintendo needs to realize that they're not going to suffer from the Osborne Effect when they announce games that made lots of money two decades ago, ahead of time. I mean, really. Also what the fucking hell does it make any kind of goddamn sense to release Sonic The Hedgehog for Master System when you've already got it on Genesis? Isn't it the same fucking game but slower? Geez.
Actually, no, it's not the same game. SMS ones are optimized for the system, with different levels and gameplay.
Or to put it another way: Also what the fucking hell does it make any kind of goddamn sense to release Super Mario Land for Game Boy when you've already got Super Mario World on Super NES? Isn't it the same fucking game but blurrier? Also what the fucking hell does it make any kind of goddamn sense to release Super Mario Bros. for NES when you've already got Super Mario World on Super NES? Isn't it the same fucking game but less colorful?
