Psst...
Screenshot's since been purged from my host

At long last I can play at about the same speed as in Texmaster Novice. A HUGE thanks to upy for his work! Now I just need to find the right balance between speed and combo stacking. Expect around 450000 soon and hopefully even more with some luck. Places 3 to 5 on the leaderboard have been warned!

EDIT:

That was really close rednefed. Sorry about that. I will try to record all games I play from now on so I can post a video if I do better. I should be able to get around 460000 as I was able to get around 340000 without time bonus in the past. And finishing the game in about 03:25 gives around 120000 in bonus.

I'll break 450000 before you.

300 @ 3:26:93, 455258 score

Congrats! Only 15 points away from 3rd place.

TAP Normal is a lot harder than Texmaster Novice. In the latter breaking 500k is a piece of cake now. I have at least 10 games with scores over 520k and twice as much over 500k. Breaking 400k in Normal mode on the other hand isn't that evident at all. The gap between my Novice and Normal high scores is currently 140k...

I'll try to play more often the coming weeks. colour_thief did you play seriously to break 500k?

6. ### colour_thief

I haven't, though it's one of my 2009 goals so I'll probably give it a solid try before the year is up.

7. ### Ai

Got closer to 450000. Speed is now on par with what I do in Texmaster Novice. I managed to get 02:59:53 in a time attack session 2 days ago. I still have a hard time finding the right balance beween speed and comboing though.

I have inp files of both games so I will try to upload videos if I can solve a few problems. ;

Updated ranking of the score before added bonus at the end:

Code:
1    colour_thief    345804
2    Ai              337542
3    rednefed        337476
4    gila            331746
5    Amnesia         325152
This is based on the best scores I could find. In my game above the score was only 316068.

450000 finally broken, but still 5th on the leaderboard. I'll try to do even better as I can play more relaxed now or so I hope.

EDIT:

It seems like my inp files are useless. Hopefully I can get it right next time... ;

458993, 300 @ 3:17:63.
Would have been 460k+ if I didn't have to waste 3-4 seconds dropping pieces waiting for an I.

I'll upload a video later. Probably during the weekend.

EDIT:

As promised: Ai TAP Master Normal Mode Score 459332

Minor improvement. I manage to get over 400000 a lot more consistently lately. I hope to jump over Amnesia soon.

I doubt I'll upload a video, but I'll try to do it if someone's interested.

Mainly posting this for self-motivation. It doesn't actually move me anywhere in the leaderboard.

Keep it up mufunyo! And I'm so sorry Amnesia. ;

Thanks colour_thief!

I can't believe it either Amnesia. The fact that I still haven't been able to get over 500000 that is. I've put a considerable amount of time in this mode compared to most other players. I don't think many players (if any at all) played this mode for almost 10 hours this year. I honestly believe a few players would have broken 500k long ago if they played as much as I do.

Last year only half a dozen players or so bothered to post in this thread so it's hard to keep playing this mode frequently. Thankfully there's rednefed reminding me every now and then to give it another try.

I see you haven't bothered playing for over 2 years since your record on January 8th 2008. I don't see how beating your score was a big mistake since you'll start playing again. Also if you know how I have been getting scores well above 500000 in Texmaster Novice this shouldn't come entirely as a surprise.

I wish there were videos from Japanese players. Good luck everyone.
