Thanks for the cheats colour_thief (and cgwg), that invisibility code will definitely be useful for practicing the m-roll, if I ever actually get there! Back on the subject of medals, I notice that the wiki has been updated. However, I'm absolutely positive that for CO, 7 (not 6) doubles or higher are required for gold; and for RE, 70 (not 6 blocks remaining will suffice for a recovery. For anyone that's interested, I've knocked up a little video to save you having to double-check; I arranged the blocks in easy to count rectangles for you: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qFIGRfoygdU Also, with the help of colour_thief's hint, I think I've worked out RO: when levelling up from 299 or 699, or upon reaching 999, the game checks the number of rotations per tetromino, a value of 1.2 or greater will result in a medal. IRS counts, but rotating a tetromino more than 4 times will have no further effect on the total rotations. If you want to check this for yourselves, you can configure watchpoints for the following addresses: 06064C2B - total rotations 06064C2D - tetrominoes played 06064C2F - rotations of current tetromino I'm afraid it's nothing as interesting. Values less than 2 appear to give nothing as a next tetromino, and values greater than 8 appear to give either nothing, or variations on an I tetromino, presumably used as garbage. And then the sequence repeats.
Thanks a lot edo! At the Strasbourg meeting I've been really confused to find out that jago always gets the RO medal and I always don't. Your discoveries will help shed some insight into out different play styles. Also I'm goingto start playing the exact same way but rotating every O piece 4 times.
Bumping an old topic for a question asked in #arika by Kitaru: "what are the approximate default ST records for TA Death" Does anyone know. Approximation for the first one seems to be around 45 seconds from what I could gather from my tired attempts this evening. 45 seconds seems probable, as it is exactly half that of the Master section times. I'd assume the time would be the same for each section, as it is for Master.
I am very septic.. It is evident I very often rotate almost of my tetriminos at least 2 times..I don't think the few tetriminos I lock directely without rotation are enough to make decrease the average under 1,2 ... I will test in slow motion and count EVERY rotation...
It would be a lot easier to use watchpoints: copy and paste this into your cheat.dat file: Code: :tgm2p:0018003E:06064C2A:00000002:00000000:watch RO after switching it on (in the Enable/Disable a Cheat menu), you should see 3 numbers pop up in the top left. The first is the total number of rotations (this is updated every time you lock a tetromino), the second is the total number of tetrominoes played, and the third is the number of rotations for the active tetromino (which can exceed 4, but only the first 4 will count). Hope this helps. 45 seconds for each section. Note that the Death mode records are not saved and will return to default every time the machine is reset or powered down. EDIT 17th Jan 08: correction, the default records are 42 seconds for each section
HO HO !!! that is crazy... I tested it..Sorry you were perfectly right about the RO medal.. And I think I will never get it any more when I see my stacking technic..In fact I rotate 0 or 1 time the most of time.. But now I can try to perform an inp with the 6 medals.. With lot of saves and slow motion of course..
