This is not a new record, and it's not even new at all (3 1/2 weeks old). However, I finally cleared level 500, which I had been unable to do for the longest time.
This post may be edited a few times, but here are all my ST's from various MAME installations: 000-100: 00:55:63 100-200: 00:58:58 200-300: 00:59:88 300-400: 01:00:01 400-500: 01:00:00 500-600: 00:59:40 600-700: 00:55:86 700-800: 00:47:75 800-900: 00:43:51 900-999: not completed yet :< Adding that all up I end up with 500.62 seconds, or 08:20:62 coming into 900, which is nearly on track! I just gotta cut down those later sections.
Man, I was SO sure this one was THE one, my heart was beating like BOOM BOOM BOOM in the last section, I tried to concentrate and make the last damn tetrises to get S9, I got da goddam S9 at 999 and literraly jumped off my chair just to realise the damn credits were note invisible !!!! RAAAAAAH btw, s9, 8min34 gold sk
Man that's crazy close. Also like all my fast S9's with a green line so therefore worth naff-all for the leaderboard. Going to really turn up my Master playing now. Can't lose out to a Frenchie
FINALLY a completion. I'm bummed it wasn't orange but oh well :S Now my section time records go through the whole game as so: 000-100: 00:55:63 100-200: 00:58:58 200-300: 00:59:88 300-400: 01:00:01 400-500: 01:00:00 500-600: 00:59:40 600-700: 00:55:86 700-800: 00:47:75 800-900: 00:43:51 900-999: 00:43:81 The sum is 544.43 seconds, or 9:04:43, 19.43 seconds off the M completion time. I think I could shave a lot of time off the second half, in addition to bringing every section under a minute.
Okay this is incredibly frustrating I just played a green line S9 game, silver SK, gold ST on the final section. Time was something like 9:58. I pressed F12 for a screenshot. I saw the game hang for a second like it always does when I take a screen. I then exited mame and opened imageshack to browse for it - but it wasn't there! I started mame again to check the records and apparently the nvram wasn't saved either. What the fuck?
This happened to me a few times too a long time ago. Now I play MAME in a window and have an image editor opened at all times. So I can take multiple image screenshots whenever necessarry or react accordingly when the screenshot wasn't taken. You could also make .inp files of your games to be completely sure. Nice section times. I have some very fast ST in Texmaster. So far I haven't really pushed myself in TAP. But as far as I know the section times in Texmaster can't be viewed.
I just use the Prnt Scrn button, rather than MAME's own. It's never failed for me, and if I want more than one screenshot I'll pause and alt-tab out of MAME, save it, then go back into MAME for the second one.
I also use Print Screen for screenshots. And the reason why I don't play full screen is because it's very hard for me to keep a good overview of everything on a 24-inch screen. Thanks for mentioning the Pause function. I knew about it but for some reason I never thought about using it.
Well, running windowed makes the game choppier, so I'm probably not doing that. And the F12 key has always worked for me in the past. I guess I should have kept mame open longer to make sure it had made a screen, though. The oddest thing is that it didn't save to nvram... Also here's a green line S8 if my S9 just doesn't have enough information. I'll try to get S9 again soon! [/IMG]
I finally got round to making a video of my most recent M rank performance: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EFoEO4avdWk Please rate and comment, and tell me how much better I am than Amnesia
Yeech. Bad play, but I had only cleared Master on NDS_TGM before and I just wanted to get a 999 up here. I screwed up bad in the beginning (note the RE medal) though managed to recover (the only good part of this run!)...and then to play it extremely safe I stopped manual locking as early as 500! I made some crappy placements in the last section too... Have the video, but won't bother uploading. Can do much better, but for now it's back to Death mode!
