    Don't worry mushroom, I don't forget you..

I just wait that you perform a more significant improvement to update it..

And I have no doubt that you can do it..

  2. Lazy! [IMG]

He worked hard for his new record, so I updated it for him. Even if I am sure he will pass it soon.

  3. Grades aren't that comparable. I mean, I have M1 on Texmaster Ti, and only S8 on TAP Master

For your case Rosti, I have 2 arguments which could explain your feeling :

1 : You did not played TAP MASTER recently..

2 : Your using of the HOLD is very developped, thank to your old experience on the DS....You take a maximum advantage from it..Well more than I can do today..

For every padawans I follow in their learning, both of them suffer with 2 grades less than TAP..I can't tell for me, currently I think that a TAP MASTER M is equal to a m3 - m4 (on Heboris G4)

  5. You make a good point in that I've not played TAP Master much for a while. Not with a keyboard at least.

My use of the hold isn't massively developed, but I get where you're coming from. The ability to process more than one preview also probably helps.

  6. It's mostly the fact that I'm usually able to get 3 section cools in a game; without those I'd be a 1 at best.

I guess Death Week paid off for me after all.

Finally got a score I can be proud of on Master.

I think 20G ARS is finally starting to click. Maybe I should go back to TGM1 quick and whip out a GM or something before returing to TAP. =P

    Code:
    EIHoppe----------------S5 - 903 @ 08:54:80 - 04/01/08
I still desperately have to work on my sub-20G, though. Oh well, improvements are still improvements.

    I don't know about "great"...

Mediocre at best, I'm thinking. =P

Amusingly, my best grade on Master before I got that S5 was 1. How in the hell I made such a jump is anybody's guess. Like I said, though, I think I might have to bump my TGM1 grade up now--I'm currently beating it with my TAP grade which makes absolutely no sense.

I would not be surprised if you jumped again through S7 S8 soon ..

Honnestly you surprised me with your M rank on Heboris..You may be a better player than me..I don't how to compare a ARS m5 and a SRS M..

It is annoying when a player like you enter in the leaderboard because of the ajusting of a lot of "rank".. [IMG] ( 27th 28th 29th ..etc..)

I think we will have soon to create automatic leaderboards..

  12. Automated leaderboards for most Tetris games at blockstats.org have been sort of discussed, but I wouldn't promise anything thus far.

I got an S8 with my VSHG today. First time I've equalled my (antique) record with a keyboard.

Seeing as I've got M in Death, and could do with the practice, I think I'll concentrate on TAP Master with a stick for a while.

I know, I know. This'll be my last 1 improvement, I promise. I was really close to S1 this time.

  14. Say, shouldn't my entry look like this?

    Code:
    29--Caithness--------------S4 - 933 @ 10:15:00 - 04/01/08
Or are we using the total time and not the mastering time?

Master ranking time is taken for the leaderboard.. [IMG]

  16. Your time isn't that awful, and unless you didn't get grade 1 until a fair bit after 500, I doubt it matters too much.

I find with TAP Master your sub-20G ability only makes that much difference to the time, and to your grade when you can't survive 20G. Your grade being 1 when you pass 500 is all that really matters. The rest is ability to make high numbers of Tetrises during 20G, and to avoid a spell where you clear a lot of singles.

Yeah, but I'm aiming for the M-roll, dammit! You gotta dream big. =P

It's actually been improving little by little--most of the time I can get most of the sub-20G sections under 1:05, but I'll still usually screw something up and have a slow one.

My problem now is that I can't seem to have a game in which I don't do something really stupid and gamebreaking (a.k.a. retarded misdrop syndrome). Sometimes I wonder if my brain is getting a piece ahead of me without my say-so, blah.

No improvements, but I did get another couple S4s that would been new records if it weren't for RMS (S4 @ ~720, if I remember right).

  18. New personal best:

S8 Green Line, level 999, mastering time 10:48:11

My first level 999 in TAP, yay! [IMG]

Note that I got two hiscore positions in the Grandmaster Ranking, what's up with that? Both 1st, and 2nd? And the 1st having ST gold, while 2nd having ST silver.

my advice is to not worry about the m-roll. when you are good enough, and consistent enough, it will happen. It's better to play a consistent game then to do a spectacular section and follow it up with a mediocre one that's too slow.

I don't share this opinion about the m roll..

No one player on the earth is able to do it unless he sacrifies a several number of training hours..

I think most of us could be able to do it with around 100-120 hours of practice..

I think I did 30 or 40 hours until now..

A really strong player who can finish the master mode under 7:30 will never get the Gm rank unless if pass through this necessary training..
