Records: [TAP] Death

I'm super happy every time I improve my PB, even if it's just by a few levels.

I don't force myself to play super fast, I just play at the speed I'm comfortable with and will slow down when there is a difficult situation or the stack needs fixing, which happens a lot, lol. Of course I won't beat the torikan the first time I reach 500, but it's interesting to estimate how much I'll be over the time limit.

 

I'm getting a custom Seimitsu stick at home soon, so expect me to play death mode a lot more in future times (focusing on DDR french cup at the moment) ! Congratz Wakimiko on your progress ! Keep stacking !

Hello Death thread, I’m learning how to play no-hold no-help classic-as-all-hell Tetris, so I figured I should maybe post my best score I’m kinda proud enough of =p



EDIT: By the way, what’s with that sound bug ? It seems some note of some instrument is randomly freezing, does that happen in the original board as well, or is this a MAME bug awaiting fixing ?

Still unbelievable that someone who can make a S13 under 5min just suck at DEATH so bad..
But 664 is a good score anyway. Keep going Altimor...

 

Level 302, at Victory Pointe. Was too slow with my phone to grab a picture and I don't know my time either

 

The skill doesn't transfer too well, the lack of extra previews and hold makes stacking drastically different.

 

Don't forget to hold all three buttons right after you top out

 

I find this insanely hard to remember to do in the heat of the moment and disappointment right after you die. I'm getting better at it though. When you already have the muscle memory to not do it, it's hard to train yourself to start doing it.

There should just be a Tetris - The definite absolute: The grand master Plus Plus version with actual death scoring tables.

Since my 397 @ 03:47:83 isn't updated here, you can add this one instead (if the leaderboards are ever updated) since this was 42 seconds faster than my 397 anyway (I didn't lock at all in that game)

Also this time I have video proof and it was done on 61.68 fps

And yes.. I did forget to hold A B C after I died.

 

I've got it in my hands since Saturday and I'm bad, best result was like 380-ish in 3:20, gotta keep stacking too !

Totally had it until 400, then got like 2 frames behind and all the pieces went the wrong directions 9_6 (I blame MAME having more input lag than texmaster, afaict)
