Nico, i play every game from level 0. As you are enable to get level 500, a good exercise is to get level 100 as fast as you can. Just focus on your speed, try to get level 100 in 45 - 50 sec ok ?
New PB increased by 60 levels ! Now, I'm at 475 ! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kfh7pLQWUV8&feature=youtu.be (Fais attention Nico, je te rattrapes ! )
My 2nd 500 @ 4:22:41 ! I proudly declare myself as the slowest western Death torikan player I did a 494 @ 4:30 this morning, and I am pretty confident I can beat Koo's record of 4:33 in the next few weeks
Okay, for some reason I got a record of 6:21:xx out of nowhere on the arcade machine, but then I could not get a picture in time and the video recorded at the pier21 arcade got destroyed... So I got a black hole of something lol Oh well, just seeing if it's okay to submit a blank entry. If not, I might try this sucka next time
Photographic evidence accepted. FYI if you hold down any of the rotation buttons then the game won't leave the gameplay views.
Huh, I just had two back-to-back games reaching level 300. (for reference, I've only ever reached 300 maybe 5 times or so before this) I've done some serious training since my tgm1 gm. Focusing on stacking in TAP Master and to go all out to get SK medals. I found manually counting every tetris really helps me concentrate on this. Not just mindlessly "trying" to stack for tetris. But really go at it 100% and say it out loud. "ONE Tetris... TWO... THREE.." etc. Even if there's a visual indication by the form of a medal at every 10 I found it really helps by doing it this way for me. Also some 20G training. Where I've actually picked up a few new tricks. Which involves some very minor "piece climbing" (carefully thinking about the initial rotation to get over to the other side if there's a hole in between) as well as really pay attention to the middle of the stack and keep it higher, and with that comes overhangs that I normally don't do. And in return I've also gained the ability to "see" where I can fit not only one piece in that place, but several. And place pieces where it's not totally obvious (in particular, the J-piece) It's like I just discovered another gear, and now I must learn how to properly use it. But I really like where this is going. I had a very clean stack up to level ~290 where I made a big mistake, before that I hardly had any. I entered 300 and for the first time I was NOT overwhelmed by it's speed increase but could actually comfortably play it. But because of the mistake right before I could not survive for many levels into it as I could not repair it in time and I was close to the top. Also my time was a little bit faster than my record and I would have got a better time had I survived up to 331 which is my current best.
Oh my god, you're getting closer man! It definitely feels good when you know you're consistently getting to your previous best. Best of luck destroying that PB!
My third torikan, I'm getting slower and slower https://twitter.com/nicofromtokyo/status/470926125657362432/photo/1 I was pretty confident to get a good slow time, when I asked KOO if he'd feel like trying to reach 5 min. This is his answer : http://twitpic.com/e4nduj Sigh.
