New record for TA Death: level 434 @ 3:31:68. It was the first time I reached level 400 after the Carnival of Death. I was able to take a better control at 300-level even though the field got messy at times. Sometimes I used manual lock, so it was kinda cool. 400-level was very messy, but I'm getting closer to level 500!
Hey, you finally got it! Enjoy your day of happiness. Your style is clearly developing. Something I notice in your video is that you hesitate a lot with each piece in the first 3 sections -- to get faster you should work on making faster placement decisions and pre-charging DAS more during ARE. Nonetheless a really nice clean game and a great first M.
Thanks! I'm working on getting faster and increasing the M rate The first three sections are my main problem, like you said, I think this will look much better in a month.
Confirmed. 999 @ 6:20:58 on stick. Had a 991 on my first attempt, and I think the 999 was my fourth or so.
Haha, I don't take video in the arcade. :< I don't have a good way to set up a camera there right now and there is no video capture system.
Yeah, perhaps. I haven't bothered Eric about that sort of thing yet since I know he's busy, but I might ask about the feasibility of video out or controller ports at some point. It all depends on whether he'd like to spend time on such a project.
Here is the result of my first session on TAP Death ! I can't believe that i was unable to get level 300 ! Shame on me But i am confident ! Controls have been improved in TGM2, right ? It seems that tetromino "slide" better than in TGM...or maybe i feel that because i have change my emulator
This is NOT easy! keep practising! 273 isn't bad especially if you haven't ever played at death speed before.
1: the ratio lock delay/ARE makes thing easier and more sympathic on TAP. 2 : the input lag is really shorter on this MAME with TAP than the other you played for TGM1.
tet2brik: Dude, you improve insanely fast. It'll be interesting to see how you'll handle death 300+, which I have struggled with for like a year now... May I ask how old you are?
I'm 30 and i know tetris since i have a gameboy, 20 years ago (like most people of my generation !). ahhhh i remember those gameboy years playing great games like "double dragon 2", "zelda Link's Awakening", and of course Tetris !
That's a good news for the 30 years old-like guys like me, our brain is still efficient even after 30 . How long do you play per day? You have maybe a secret tech to teach us?
That sucks for me. I was hoping you were like 16 or so. I'm 34 and also had a Game boy. Got mine on Christmas of '88 I think, so that's 23 years soon... damn...I never really liked Tetris before I discovered TGM though. Arcadestick+ARS+20G is where it's at.
Level 300 at least ! Ok it's not incredible but i used a technic which can be useful to you, newbie like me Yesterday, i've read the post from EDO "TGM2:TAP, TGM2:TA and TGM mame cheats". So i used cheats just to see what's level 300 in TA Death. The first time, i tried level 300, i thought that the gaming was bugging as the speed was so high Today, i've trained again in level 300 using cheat : my mission was just to clear 1 or 2 lines which i was able to do after 3 or 4 games. After that, i play T.A Death with no cheat and i was able to get level 311 very easily for my first play. It seemed that playing in very high speed "train" my brain By the way, now that i've tried level 300, i must say that you guys who are Master or GM are just cyborgs
