*Deleted cause it seems emulator is laging to my favor*

  4. Malkovitch, would you mind checking to see if your emulator is running at full speed? Your time shows you're on pace to easily get GM below 6 minutes, which would be pretty crazy for someone who can only get 748.

    How do i check that?
Does seem to lag a bit on mame. What config do you use?

  6. I think you just have to press F11 in game, and in the top right corner the info will pop up. Just post it in here and we'll be able to tell if it's running full speed. Also if you tell us what your CPU is, we'll be able to see if your machine is capable of running it full speed.

Seems to be going full speed. Hmmm dosent explain the lag i get after some time. Happens on other computers ive played on. Any ideas?

  8. Your system should definitely be able to handle it fullspeed. I guess maybe you're just awesome? [IMG] You're locking pieces after 500 right?

If you want to be extra sure, play some Sudden in Texmaster and see if you're getting comparable times. Sudden is approximately the same, though strictly easier, so you should be able to hit 500 within 3 minutes.

if you're running MAME from the command line, try adding this (i'm not 100% sure the syntax is correct):

    -video opengl

    it might help.

  10. One thing that you might find helpful is to have MAME only running on one CPU core. Task Manager can do this, but I prefer a program called SMP Seesaw, which can also isolate a process on one core, moving as much as possible to the other core.

Yeah i was locking after 500. Sudden is on texmaster? I always find the controls feel a bit weird in it.
Thanks for all the help, ill try different ways and see how it goes.
The TAP pcbs still cost a fortune dont they? After all these years i should give up hope [IMG]

I was about to congratulate you for your quite remarkable performance in your first post over here in the record section Malkovitch. Only noticed just now that you removed the screenshot.

I did run both TGM and TAP on a XP2000+ with a Geforce 4200Ti in the past and everything ran very smoothly for me. Maybe it has something to do with the MAME version you use. There's no doubt in my mind that your rig should handle the game easily. Try different MAME versions and play around with the settings is my advice.

As mentioned by colour_thief you should be able do perform at the same level in Texmaster Sudden. Either way it looks like you have potential to do very well! ^^

Yeah ive played for about 4-5 years the TGM series. So i want my records to be legit at least [IMG]

When i downloaded TAP it was the day it was releaced officially on mame and then taken down. I thought it wasent supported on any other version so i always kept various backups as to not loose it.

  14. Thanks to Edo I've added something pretty cool to the first post. It's a youtube playlist featuring all the best records in this thread.

Depends what you mean by fortune... I think I saw one go for 75000 Yen recently. Anyhow, I look forward to hearing how things go. You've been playing 5 years right? What are your times in other modes?

    75000 = 558 euros [IMG]
Out of my budget, my whole new computer cost me 400...Because for under 300 i could get an xbox360 with TGM ACE which would get me an original game from the series. I would consider a purchase for half that probably.

I dont really play master in TAP because i play keyboard so i cant do the sonic drop and lock well enough. Got a friend to finally lend me his HRAP3 so ill probablly be getting a joystick real soon. I downloaded texmaster again yesterday, got to 511 on sudden because i messed up bad nearly lost the toriken, was very impressed with my recovery though [IMG].
Also 499 on sudden Ti, cant remember the time but still kinda far from the 2:15. Locking in the 350+ zone dosent go so well [IMG] But i really find the controls to react slowly in this mode and misplace pieces from time to time. Probably too fast for keyboard noobs [IMG]
And my Gm1 time cant really remember, only play it every now and again to chillout. Can i see the times for the topscores saved in texmaster?

I still have lots of errors in my gameplay. Only found this site a bit over a year ago and my games really picked up since then. I think my biggest mistake was not forcing myself to build a proper pyramid. And the thing that annoys me now is my openning into the pyramid, sometimes i just cant seem to set it up. Once it gets goig im fine.

EDIT:I just got healed from my MAME ignorance going soooooo well now [IMG]

    Also from Europe!

The time requirement to get past 500 is 02:28 actually.

    Texmaster function key actions:

    Code:
[F1] Player1 unlimited speed, fast forward replay
[F2] Player2 unlimited speed, fast forward replay
    [F3] ---
    [F4] ---
    [F5] ---
    [F6] Replay
    [F7] Bgm test
    [F8] View type change
    [F9] Debug information
    [F10] ---
    [F11] Player1 game over
    [F12] Player2 game over
F6 will give you an overview of your played games and you can watch replays over there.

    EDIT:

    ^^

Funny, i have been playing with a keyboard for maybe one and a half year (i forgot when i began playing tetris really) and now i startet playing with a joystick a few days ago. Sudden/Death definitely works [IMG] But when it comes to sonic drop/lock i'm way faster with the keyboard. Maybe its just a practice thing, but playing TAP/Ti Master with a Stick seems more difficult to me.

Same with me - i learned a lot here what i would never figure out by myself.
