Hmm... slight brain-fart there on my part I think. Good job that threads don't stop at 500 if we've not been posting quickly enough.
Some nice editing skills colour_thief and the last few post are epic. I'll see if I can get over 200 this weekend. I have been able to get to level 238 on DS using TAP rotation so it should be possible.
I'm reasonably happy, but not bursting with joy like I was when I got my TexMaster Sudden M. I think soon I'll be able to seal the deal with a TGM2 Death M.
Very nice indeed and your time is not bad at all! Do you manual lock the whole time now? I managed to get 240 in about 2:30 on Sudden this weekend. I believe 300 could be possible soon, but I still have a long way to go before I can confidently play while manual locking.
hehe. i meant to a little while before but realized i had no screenshot. I've been keeping a log of my progress and whenever I get a new record I jot down the level, time, score (useless, but why not), and date, as well as any comments. The first entries were in the beginning of June, when I was reaching about ~300 in TAP Master mode... @Ai, I pretty much manual lock all the way to 300. Partly because I'm impatient, and partly because I think it's good practice toward breaking through that 300 barrier. Nowadays a lot of my practice consists of Shirase mode in a certain handheld clone, just because that already starts at roughly 300 death speeds. Sometimes I even try manual locking there One time I actually did really well--just because I'm so used to manual locking, i worry that sometimes my control is better when I manual lock. hehe. Slower practice is needed as well though. I can't survive 20g indefinitely, even slow 20g. =( TAP Master mode record will be posted whenever I break my current score and remember to take a pic. as a side note my movement finesse with L and J =still= needs work...habits are tricky to break . Also I'm guessing (?) I need to practice avoiding triple rotations in preparation for higher speeds...
Sounds like you're making progress. But don't think that you need a picture because we're not anal about that stuff.
nah, i like to have a picture =P just because it's easy enough anyways. I'm wondering what's the most feasible way to record a movie of my playing (for fun, and for analysis!)... IIRC I -can- record an input file and play it back. But I'm pretty sure the whatchamacallit special version of the thing that I'm using to play TAP can't actually output to a video (I tried). maybe a screen capture device? =X record input, playback and capture? i'll have to look into it...
Does your PC have TV out, and do you have another device with TV in? You could run replays through that, at a slight cost in color resolution.
But doesn't your DVI out have analog signals on it (DVI-I), which can be run through a DVI-A to VGA adapter and a VGA to composite adapter? Or are both ports pure DVI-D?
I'm fairly sure that if I had both of those adapters (I don't have the first) that might work. But I also lack another device that I would route it into anyways. Though I do have a TV card installed that accepts...SVideo. haha.
I used an Aiptek A-HD camcorder with a composite input to scan in the Forrest Gump and Pinocchio scenes from VHS tape for The BumpityBoo Chronicles. (Its microphone sucks, but I managed to work around that.)
Congrats DeHackEd! I'll be following your M up with one of my own soon enough. I keep getting cut off in the harshest of ways... For those interested in my recent progress, despite the lack of new level records: +Harshest defeat: 499 @ 3:24:28, sudden loss of control near the end. +Today's failure: 494 @ 3:22:30, due to an unintentional I-block synchro, creating a nigh unmanageable stack.
