Do you guys know if the Tekken 4 PS2 stick is any good? It's the only one I can find local to me. I'm considering it as a simple way of using a joystick on PC. But it's not cheap and is bundled with Tekken 4 which I would never play. And probably doesn't include a 4-way guide...
The tekken 4 was made by Hori I think ? I have the soulcalibur one which is obviously the very same stick with another sticker on it, it's decent but not that great.
ct !! i'm using a Tekken 4 arcade Stick ! in fact i've got 2 HORI arcade Stick labelled Tekken 4... and the 2 are modified for TGM they are good product, but only problem is with the 4 direction guide witch do not exist.... you will have to modify it yourself. I've got a possibility to get an Hori Arcade Stick Pro witch is even bigger !
Hmm... Maybe I will get it then, if it has served you well Jago. So is it easy to modify? I can add my own guide and swap parts if necessary? Incidentally, does anyone here want Tekken 4? Cost: Shipping + Free (or best offer ) I might still go for a RAP or something... We'll see.
unfortunately you can't buy the specific part, i've used Plasticine (polymer clay)that become hard as rock. the problem about this arcade stick is the part that you can't change. But still a very very good product. furthermore, the button are solded on a PCB, and simply can't be unmounted. i can take a picture if you want.
On USB? 125Hz (every 8ms). PS2 pad adaptors usually run at only 60Hz, outputting the result on a 4ms boundary.
Not that I don't trust you, but I find this stuff very interesting. Could you link a source or any further reading?
It's generally quoted in reviews for mice that the usual input rate is 125Hz but that it can be increased. However, they also mention that increasing it may cause problems for other devices. It can be confirmed if you're running Linux, by doing something like jstest --event /dev/input/js0
