  1. Was that one-on-one, or a game with multiple players?

  2. not sure. probably had more than one player.

Did the 70 tpm player beat the 150 tpm player consistently?

  4. That's true. I think that's a better idea than speed restriction but i don't quite get it. Are we talking about servers hosted by people where you just join a server or are we talking about something like TDS where it just pairs you off with someone randomly based on ranking. If people are hosting the servers then how about ranking restricted servers? I'm not huge on restricted servers it's just that i think there needs to be something in place to make sure that newcomers can play

An issue i want to bring up is too much stuff. I'm not exactly sure how to put it but if there is going to be people making preset rules (whether or not there is items, ARS or SRS, etc.) and something that groups people based on ranking or speed, then won't there be too much spreading up players? If each rule splits up the groups more and more then we will be left with very small groups of people in each server. This could just be me misunderstanding the suggestions in which case feel free to clarify things but I think too many adjustable rules would be a bad thing.

A ranking-restricted server would always kick off a percentage of the highest players on the server. That would be fine if a server would affiliate with a server above it in the ladder to dump all the people who have "graduated".

  6. I think when we say "server", we actually mean individual rooms on the same server, like TNet servers will usually have dozens of rooms with various settings.

I see that designing a good multiplayer tetromino game isn't that easy than I though. I mean, there are a lot of problems to deal with... But I readed carefully each of your answers and I can now begin to design something without too many flaws and shits.

And lol, guett0, thank for your speed curve code. What are the difference between these modes, despite the speed curve? The number of line required to level up? Is that a thing from arcade games? Because i've never seen any tetris arcade in my entire life.

I'm presently studying the game mechanics and, because i'm a newbie, have a completly off-topic question: what the hell are those three buttons used for rotations? I'm not used to that arcade thing... What does the C button????? How pressing A and C is different than just pressing A????

Sorry in advance for that insanely newbish question.

  8. Pressing A then C is much faster and easier (once you learn) than just hitting A twice.

    Is the operative term there.

Got it. C is exactly the same thing than A. (What a noob I am... [IMG])
