Re: [Lockjaw] 40 Lines & 180 Seconds Cleared 40 lines on 2008-01-10 at 21:07 (rot=SRS, lock=Move reset, rnd=7-piece Bag, spin=3-corner T, speed=Zero) (grav=Naive, drop=None, are=0 ms, das=116 ms Instant, shadow=Faint color, next=3 pieces) Played for 0:30.40 Played 103 tetrominoes (203.28 per minute) Pressed 313 keys (3.03 per tetromino) Made 40 lines (single: 4; double: 6; triple: 0; home run: 6; T single: 0; T double: 0; T triple: 0) Sent 33 garbage (65.13 per minute) Left 8 blocks behind LJ score: 10600 - Jono
Re: [Lockjaw] 40 Lines & 180 Seconds Whoa congratz..You are close to break the 30.. 3,38 tm/s ... I have an idea..If you begin to practice TAP, I begin to practice the 40 lines time-attack..
Re: [Lockjaw] 40 Lines & 180 Seconds Here my real first attempt on lockjaw 40 lines.. I wanted to proove how bad are TGM players on speed... Maybe someone could tell me how to optimize the option, I don't understand every options in the game..
Re: [Lockjaw] 40 Lines & 180 Seconds What on earth is slowing you down?? As a death M player you should be able to get below 1 minute even on a bad try. EDIT: ZOMG fix your randomizer!!
Re: [Lockjaw] 40 Lines & 180 Seconds While you're fixing the randomizer, make sure to turn off deep drop. General guideline for for DAS: Either 1G or instant. Unless you're technically a senior citizen, you should be able to handle less than 166 comfortably. I'm not saying go down too far, though. Worse thing a new player could do is make useless misdrops because of excessively low DAS, but you know, I just think 166 is a little high. Your high keys/tetrominoes indicates indecisiveness. Keep at it.
Re: [Lockjaw] 40 Lines & 180 Seconds Trust me it is very hard when you have not yet the habit ! And I have the feeling my keys are not well set.. When I see the replays of jono, it seems he has 2 drops : -one locks directely. -the other drop without locking. Is it an impression ?
Re: [Lockjaw] 40 Lines & 180 Seconds Yes, you can set it so that you have both hard drop and firm drop. Also, make sure you address the things caffeine mentioned as it really affects your speed.
Re: [Lockjaw] 40 Lines & 180 Seconds pfff.... Can I have at least my score on the leaderboard ? To follow my improvement every day... EDIT : 1:06 ... I think I will actually continu with the stick... but I still don't understand how you can have 2 drops..
Re: [Lockjaw] 40 Lines & 180 Seconds Start by making the environment more familiar. Set speed curve to Death, maximum entry delay to 250 ms, and rotation to Arika. A Death master should be able to easily get under a minute under these conditions, as 40 lines is just barely longer than one section. That's "alternate firm drop" in game keys.
Re: [Lockjaw] 40 Lines & 180 Seconds Thank you ! it was evident.. I begin to have a good setting, but I still have a last problem : here my setting : That works almost perfectly (for me) , but the most of time, when I push down, I expect that will make fall and lock 1 tetriminos, but I have 2 tetriminos which fall..The first one is locked, and the second one is sliding but it is boring to continue with a tetriminos already fallen..
Re: [Lockjaw] 40 Lines & 180 Seconds You want to find a different button for firm drop. It's doing that weird behavior because you assigned two functions to the same button (axis up/down +). My recommendation would be to set down as down on the joystick, then set firm drop as up on the joystick. Then set soft drop to slide. It's not really great for speedrunning, but that should be similar to non 20G TAP.
Re: [Lockjaw] 40 Lines & 180 Seconds If you're using a joystick at all I'd imagine you'd be slower. For ultimate speed keyboard is easily the fastest.
Re: [Lockjaw] 40 Lines & 180 Seconds It is not that...I need to have : up --> sonic drop with slide down --> sonic drop with lock Is it not possible ? I can have it, but I have to push down very very light If I don't want to see 2 tetriminos falling.. EDIT : That all for today..I will keep the sub 20G system until I found a better configuration..Please c_t, try some attempts... And you will see how hard it is..
Re: [Lockjaw] 40 Lines & 180 Seconds no, just set up ---> firm drop down > up with slide i think that should work, right?
Re: [Lockjaw] 40 Lines & 180 Seconds Yeah, I am playing on Death 300 settings (so there's some ARE and a tad of line clear). On Heboris, I'm usually above 120 tpm at that speed, so there's room for improvement. My best on hebo at Shirase ~200 speed with a long lock delay is like 52-53 seconds.
Re: [Lockjaw] 40 Lines & 180 Seconds Got a good TPM today: Cleared 40 lines on 2008-09-15 at 14:07 (rot=SRS, lock=Move reset, rnd=7-piece Bag, spin=3-corner T, speed=Zero) (grav=Naive, drop=None, are=0 ms, das=100 ms Instant, shadow=Faint color, next=3 pieces) Played for 0:29.23 Played 105 tetrominoes (215.50 per minute) Pressed 327 keys (3.11 per tetromino) Made 41 lines (single: 2; double: 2; triple: 1; home run: 8; T single: 0; T double: 0; T triple: 0) Sent 42 garbage (86.20 per minute) Left 6 blocks behind LJ score: 12500 - Jono
Re: [Lockjaw] 40 Lines & 180 Seconds New 180 Seconds record: Cleared 180 seconds on 2008-09-15 at 15:07 (rot=SRS, lock=Move reset, rnd=7-piece Bag, spin=3-corner T, speed=Zero) (grav=Naive, drop=None, are=0 ms, das=100 ms Instant, shadow=Faint color, next=3 pieces) Played for 3:00.00 Played 518 tetrominoes (172.66 per minute) Pressed 1720 keys (3.32 per tetromino) Made 204 lines (single: 7; double: 5; triple: 1; home run: 46; T single: 0; T double: 0; T triple: 0) Sent 232 garbage (77.33 per minute) Left 24 blocks behind LJ score: 66800 - Jono *Demo available on request.
Re: [Lockjaw] 40 Lines & 180 Seconds You should definitely start a new thread in the replay section. I'd really like to see both replays!
