Re: [Lockjaw] 40 Lines & 180 Seconds eh, TDS was my first tetris game, and I very quickly reached 1tps... but maybe not within 10 hours, it was probably a few days. I don't think most people are able to reach 1tps very quickly. Out of all my friends that I've played (who would be 'average') none of them can sustain 1tps on TDS, but that's probably because they're used to soft-dropping everything. (and sorry for not having any new records; my PC with Lockjaw on it is borked)
Re: [Lockjaw] 40 Lines & 180 Seconds well, don't forget that ten hours of play over the course of three days is 3:20 a day.
Re: [Lockjaw] 40 Lines & 180 Seconds the original tnet 1.13 application, yes. nowadays noone plays that, though. it's not even tfast anymore. but the modern applications / tnet2 will let you set a 1 second delay. i was talking about without the delay.
Re: [Lockjaw] 40 Lines & 180 Seconds I thought tnet2 was dead. At least it was back when I was first considering expanding Lockjaw's maximum playfield width to 12 cells.
Re: [Lockjaw] 40 Lines & 180 Seconds Tetrinet 2 may get a big wave of new german player. The german broadcaster "Giga" revived their old concept of the "Giga Liga". "Liga" means league. It started 2 weeks ago and there are around 10 people playing tetrinet a few hours a day and at least 30-50 people dropping by ocassionally. Well their overall skill is not very high. In fact Iam one of the 5 best players on there but i have seen a few player which started playing tetris with the start of the league and they already show quite a talent for this game Maybe i should guide some of them to this site. This is what i got after a few runs: Code: Cleared 40 lines on 2007-11-28 at 18:13 (rot=SRS, lock=Move reset, rnd=7-piece Bag, spin=3-corner T, speed=Exponential) (grav=Naive, drop=None, are=0 ms, das=166 ms 1G (60 Hz), shadow=Color, next=4 pieces) (10x20, bottom=Off) Played for 1:34.56 (active 1:29.63) Played 104 tetrominoes (65.98 per minute, 69.61 per active minute) Pressed 396 keys (3.80 per tetromino) Made 40 lines (single: 18; double: 2; triple: 2; home run: 3; T single: 0; T double: 0; T triple: 0) Sent 19 garbage (12.05 per minute) Left 12 blocks behind LJ score: 7800
Re: [Lockjaw] 40 Lines & 180 Seconds I shaped off around 9 seconds. Are only the options given in the first post essential for the 40 lines mode so i can choose my own options for the preview of the pieces? I have great problems with recognizing which piece comes next because i mainly focus on the bottom of the playfield. Thats why i play with 1 piece preview on the top of the piece shadow I really hope this is not against the rules Code: Cleared 40 lines on 2007-11-29 at 10:07 (rot=SRS, lock=Move reset, rnd=7-piece Bag, spin=3-corner T, speed=Zero) (grav=Naive, drop=None, are=0 ms, das=166 ms 1G (60 Hz), shadow=Faint color, next=4 pieces) (10x20, bottom=Off) Played for 1:25.30 (active 1:20.00) Played 105 tetrominoes (73.85 per minute, 78.75 per active minute) Pressed 381 keys (3.62 per tetromino) Made 40 lines (single: 31; double: 3; triple: 1; home run: 0; T single: 0; T double: 0; T triple: 0) Sent 5 garbage (3.51 per minute) Left 16 blocks behind LJ score: 5000
Re: [Lockjaw] 40 Lines & 180 Seconds Yeah, you're only restricted by the rules in the first post. Other than that, you're free to set it any way you want...unless you happened to run across another broken combination I might have missed.
Re: [Lockjaw] 40 Lines & 180 Seconds How about the randomizers with dominoes and triminoes? I personally think that for these purposes they're 'broken'...
Re: [Lockjaw] 40 Lines & 180 Seconds You can set it to those if you'd like but you'd only be making your records slower. By broken, I'm more or less referring to non-standard features that grant players an overwhelming advantage.
Re: [Lockjaw] 40 Lines & 180 Seconds hmm, wouldn't you have to place dominoes at 2 times your normal speed and triminoes at 1.3 times just to keep up? a slower player may benefit from placing simpler pieces, but the strongest players who are trying to overcome physical limitations more than mental would most likely play slower. in any case, i agree that the 10-piece bag shouldn't be allowed. it makes it a different game.
Re: [Lockjaw] 40 Lines & 180 Seconds If anyone else agrees, I'll consider banning it, although I don't really think it's a threat at all to the current game. Sure it's different, but it doesn't unbalance the current game at all. If you can get an uber record with this randomizer, you can probably get an even better record with another randomizer.
Re: [Lockjaw] 40 Lines & 180 Seconds Ok time i guess after 30 min playing. Code: Cleared 40 lines on 2007-12-10 at 21:27 (rot=SRS, lock=Move reset, rnd=7-piece Bag, spin=3-corner T, speed=Zero) (grav=Naive, drop=None, are=0 ms, das=166 ms 1G (60 Hz), shadow=Faint color, next=1 pieces) (10x20, bottom=Off) Played for 1:31.58 (active 1:26.76) Played 108 tetrominoes (70.75 per minute, 74.68 per active minute) Pressed 374 keys (3.46 per tetromino) Made 41 lines (single: 5; double: 4; triple: 0; home run: 7; T single: 0; T double: 0; T triple: 0) Sent 35 garbage (22.92 per minute) Left 22 blocks behind
Re: [Lockjaw] 40 Lines & 180 Seconds I improved too Code: Cleared 40 lines on 2007-12-13 at 21:29 (rot=SRS, lock=Move reset, rnd=7-piece Bag, spin=3-corner T, speed=Exponential) (grav=Naive, drop=None, are=0 ms, das=166 ms 1G (60 Hz), shadow=Faint color, next=4 pieces) (10x20, bottom=Off) Played for 1:19.96 (active 1:14.80) Played 106 tetrominoes (79.53 per minute, 85.02 per active minute) Pressed 371 keys (3.50 per tetromino) Made 40 lines (single: 22; double: 6; triple: 2; home run: 0; T single: 0; T double: 0; T triple: 0) Sent 10 garbage (7.50 per minute) Left 20 blocks behind LJ score: 6000
