Well, it's still kinda lame, like playing a shooter game (Time Crisis, House of the Dead) while holding the gun at an absurdly close distance of the screen, but that's not really cheating. Speedrunners want to show the fastest theorical way to finish a game, without hacking it. Think about Rocket Jumping in Quake, Jet-Skiing in Starsiege Tribes or Snaking in MKDS: that's perhaps not the way the game designer wants the players to play the game, but it's still an possibility.
