Death TAS featuring double GM

    Tasvideos user Steelix100 has improved the famous previous Death TAS by about 6 seconds (thanks to taking advantage of wall kicks), while also getting 5 out of 6 Gold medals and proving that the game will recognize a double GM to boot. ("All" you have to do is earn Death GM and then complete Secret GM during the credits.) Oddly the game also has a bug where losing during the credits doesn't check for Secret Grade, so the player must actually build at just the right pace so that the final piece gets positioned no more than 19 frames before the credits naturally end.

  2. It's a cool TAS :)

    The reason why it's an improvement over the previous Death TAS has to do with stack heights at different section transitions. You want the stack as low as possible before the speed increases. Aside from that, I'd say Steelix100 is taking advantage of the ARE/line clear + line ARE in 100-300 to go for CO without it slowing them down. There's a lot of nice ideas here and there :D

    Also one thing : It's possible to speed up the end credits by holding start, I guess that's an easy time save for future attempts at Secret double GM

  4. Ah, I interpreted this as "credits end" rather than "credits end with no speed up". Testing needed :)
  5. Yeah, I think it's possible that they aren't aware you can speed up the credits. I read "naturally end" there to mean "end in a loss vs. end in a clear" rather than anything to do with holding Start.
