Does anyone have an idea how the catch randomizer works? It seems when I'm playing, at times there would be 1 piece on my screen while at other times, there would be several while at the same level. Sometimes I can't get enough peices for good detonations and other times, there are just way too many pieces. Say I start at level 20, for every 2 detonations, does the randomizer "restart"? Or is that just part of the randomizer's randomness?
My impression was that, at each frame (or every third frame, or fifth, or whatever) a piece will be spawned with some probability. That probability depends on the level. So at level 1, maybe there's only a 1 in 20 chance that a piece will be spawned at any given opportunity, whereas at level 20, it could be something like 1 in 2. That would certainly account for the streakiness you're describing.
(Bander87, your cyberscore icon sems broken) It's definately odd. Sometimes you go for ages without seeing pieces, and then get like 10 at once.
