The time is upon us to announce our annual Tetrisconcept European Meeting in Eindhoven!

Just like last year, the presence of the Classic Tetris European Championships in September means we've had to scoot over to October. Also, the presence of the Dutch Design Week from the 19th of October means we're limited to the first week of October. And so, the final date to mark in your calendars is the following:

    3-6 October 2019!

Location will be the same as always, Plug In City, Eindhoven's own circular container village which is becoming more symbiotic with Tetrisconcept every year in that they've had my Blast City for the past 6 months, and will now be building their own arcade cabinet using a 29" Trinitron and Sanwa controls that I will be supplying. (Shoutout to @TGGC for hooking me up with a replacement)

If you want to volunteer with anything, like setup, tech, supplying extra games, streaming, responding to chat, let me know! Many hands make light work. If you want to help with anything physical it helps to be present on Wednesday the 2nd, which is when we start building up.

There is a shared bedroom 200 metres from the venue with two beds, a couch and a bunch of mattresses. The combined cost is 72.50 euro for everyone and the more people share it the cheaper it becomes for the people sharing! If you don't like sharing with icky nerds you can book a room with the Blue Collar Hotel, which is 150 metres away.

    Let's go!

  2. I can do October if it is not 19/20th. Also asking the other german guys I know.

  3. I'm still on the fence as to whether I should go to Eindhoven or CTEC though for this event in particular, October would be the better time for me.

  4. I'm free in August except for 18th-24th. I start civil service in October so I could probably only make it on weekends.

  5. I'm working in August and University starts in October so I'll probably be only free on weekends (maybe take off a Friday or skip a set of lectures).
With the exception of 13/14th of August I can make it for sure (considering other circumstances I'll give October half my my vote but I am happy with both). but I'd strongly prefer October.

  6. The people from Mainz basically all agreed that October would be the preferred month if it happens to no be the 19/20th Oct.

  7. I have nothing planned for October so anytime in October is fine for me.

  8. 19th+20th October is CTWC, right?

  9. @Archina We will see you at Eindhoven this year ? :D

  10. I'd probably decide closer to July. So maybe. :p

  11. It seems so, but thats not our reasoning. We have a local event here called "Frankfurt book fair" where our association is taking part in.

@Muf: I got to know some more german players in the recent time, mostly interested in either NES/SNes Tetris or Puyo Puyo Tetris. Are you interested in having them over at Eindhoven? I think there would be also enough time to have e.g. a 1v1 Nes Tournament added to the event.

Sure, there is more than enough time to plan anything you guys are up for :)

  13. Planning to have friends over in August so October would be better for me (yes, I may turn up this time!)

  14. i definitely can't go. i hope everyone who goes has fun

  15. i've never been to an eindhoven meetup but i'm super interested. october seems a lot better, i have a tightly packed schedule for work on august.

also, i get to plan ahead a bit more with what expenses i'm gonna need

  16. So right now it seems the score is at:
    August: 0
    October: 6
Only person not deciding on a month being @FreakyByte though his free time leans towards August. Would there be any other August votes knocking about? If not it seems Eindhoven is happening in October. :hmm:

  17. pls come :(

  18. Right now I'm more likely to attend Eindhoven than CTEC. Especially if you're coming as well. That means we can book flights together! :D

Date is fixed, see the first post! Also, it's worth noting that we landed on basically the exact same dates as last year, for mostly the same reasons. So it's likely that next year will be similar as well, if factors don't change before then. So if you haven't been able to attend because of short notice, consider this a notice more than a year in advance that you can plan for.

  20. Great, looking forward to see some new faces! Maybe its possible to lure some more germans to the meeting this year, too.
