Needle notified me of this I point your attention to post 848 It seems to claim that our very own Millar is a 'disconnecter', along with DDD2 - I assume this means he quits after every game, but Needle seems to think otherwise. Not only does it accuse Millar but it claims gigolo is not a cheater. A poster also qustions the legitimacy of tetrisdude's rating. I'm only using babel to translate this, but it seems the general mood of some people is that TC-players cheat. Personally I cant see how anyone can claim that Millar cheats, especially if he is as good at push as some people have claimed. He's certainly an 7800 player, at least, at 4p. For what cosmonaut says, DDD2 isn't a cheater either. Tetrisdude I can't say. I haven't played you in a while, but if your skill is near mine to mine (which I remember it being) a 8300 score is possible with a bit of luck. If I could write japanese I would post a complaint in the thread, but I can't. I won't ask Needle as he is having wrist pains so can't type much.
Its true! Millar is a disconnector, but its not controlled. It seems that over the past week my signal has thinned out(I blame downloading torrents). In any event Ill give you an approximate 10 game breakdown. 4 games normal, 4 games my opponent disconnects and I play a frozen opponent till I win, and 2 games I just get booted off WiFi and I get credit for the loss. There the word from this horses mouth. As for TCM-DDD2, Ive played him hes real good, but maybe hes pulling the weak signal too. Tetris dude used 2 DS's.
Well, there you go. I knew it wouldn't be deliberate cheating, and you are good enought to have a rating that high anyway.
Hmm, I'm not sure how I feel about that method of using 2 DSes. I called it cheating when Millar did it, but according to him it takes so much time that you have to be truly dedicated to pull it off. In any case, it seems to me that it's not fair to people who only have one copy of TDS.
how do you use two ds's to cheat? tetrisdude did this to get to 8300? "I blame downloading torrents." don't play while downloading things. people will kill you on kaillera for doing that. as for tcm-ddd2, i've played him a while ago on worldwide. it was weird cause he kept disconnecting. it gave me points (and when he showed up again, he had lost points). hasn't happened to me before or since.
Buy two Nintendo DS systems and two Tetris DS Game Cards. One will be your jobber to the stars. Play yourself on Wi-Fi. On your jobber Game Card, throw every match against yourself but try to win every other match.
hi guys, yes I did use 2 ds's, but also won a lot games to get up there as well.......Let me explain it, i was around 7800.....My brother just borrowed tetris and he was plaing worldwide, at the same time i was. We somehow came across eachother so he just let me win until i got around 8100. Then i played a ton of regular mathces verse some 7000+ people, brought me up to 8150. Now while at 8150 I played the star cheater around 8000(which really stinks) i beat him like 6 times in a row. Which brought me up to 8345, then i lost one to him and went back to 8300. So I decided to stop and now im currently around 8300. Also my tetrisdude name wasnt registering so i changed it TC-24-Dude. TC=Tetris Concept button 24=best show ever!!! Dude=in rememberance of my old tetrisdude name I dont really consider myself a cheater...I feel earned that rating. So please dont call me a cheater, I hate being called one.
"Now while at 8150 I played the star cheater around 8000(which really stinks) i beat him like 6 times in a row." wouldn't beating someone around the same or less rating as you six times bring you up to around thirty to fifty points at best? i wouldn't think it'd bring you a whole two hundred points.
I dont know why either. It just kept bringing me up around 30-40 points each game(my best guess is extra points in the system). I didnt really complain, though. lol
I guess we could debate whether or not what you did can be considered cheating, but regardless, it was definitely shady. You got ~300 points from someone intentionally losing. Then you played someone with an inflated rating. I suggest you play asap and get your rating back to where it deserves to be since you will never maintain an 8300.
You really think i cant mantain it....i have been practicing day and night, working on t-spins, building up speed. Then u say that about me. I will continue to play wifi and we will see where my rating goes until then plaese dont judge my TDS playing abilitys.
with some luck i think 8300 is maintainable for Tetrisdude. this is my logic: he can kick my ass in 2p. in 2p lately i've been maintaining about 7800. so i'd imagine he can keep at least 8000-8100. THEN: he has to have hella luck and not run into Explosion (because explosion will trounce him, well maybe) or any freak 7400 player who might beat him. anyway i think it's maintainable for at least a week or two until his luck runs out. plus i don't think anything he did was cheating. i've ran into players who stuck around for 80-100 2p games (i am thinking of one in particular where i went like 60-1) SO if he runs into his brother... and his brother just happens to stick around for 500 games... whatever, it's the luck of the draw.
Here's my logic. I'm a 7400 player. I sometimes drop to the 7300s, I sometimes get to the 7500s. I played NOAH the other day and he beat me 100-5 (!). He was in the 8200s at the time and we about broke even. He beat me 100-5 and broke even! You've got to be a freak to win 95% of your games against a 7400 player, and there are only a very small handful of people in the world who are that good. Not only that, but getting that good isn't going to happen in a matter of weeks, it's going to take years of committed Tetris practice. Tetrisdude has been around 7500 (sorry if I've lowballed you here) since I've seen him around. I don't doubt that he can maintain a 7700-7800, but 8300 is unrealistic.
I doubt Tetrisdude will maintain the rating. You just lose so many points at that level. It's not eve too much about speed and t-spins when you get that high - it's about never making a mistake. You can't afford to lose because the drop in points is huge. And about whether I consider it cheating? I do. I don't think you could regard it as anything else. So what if you have to work hard? Any cheater has to work hard - it must take dozens of games to get that high. If anything your route was easier, as you weren't going to have your opponent d/c on you. If I wanted to I could d/c my opponents after every loss, and would never lose points. But I don't. Not because it would take ages to get anywhere, but because it's cheating, regardless of how much time and effort I would have to put into it. Cheating is cheating. It doesn't matter how intricate the plan is, how many months you spend planning it out, if you rob a bank it is stealing. I forgive Millar, becuase he went on a semi-deliberate losing streak afterwards to burn off all the dishonest points.
I don't consider it cheating but I don't really consider it accurate either. The pool of players you faced was too small and skewed to actually represent your true rating. I may have been away for a few weeks but I can't imagine you growing in ability so quickly, if not exponentially. Having a constant rating in the 8,300s seems to represent mastery in many areas. With the past few weeks of playing nothing but high-speed Heboris, I can modestly say that I've only improved to around a constant 7800-7900 if converted to TDS. Of course, you're welcome to prove me wrong. Also, another factor to consider is the speed of the inflation of points due to cheaters. Maybe keeping such a rank is easier nowadays.
Can you guys PLEASE stop calling me a cheater..Do you want me to lose on on purpose so that i can go back around to 7800. If you want me to play more games, i have. And i was able to mantain it, there were a lot of close games, but i did mantain it. I am hoping to mantain it as long as possible. Im sure im eventually going to lose one.So please stop calling me a cheater. You guys can ay least congradulate while i have my few minutes of fame.
You want me to "congratulate" you for taking ~500 points from a combination of your brother who lost on purpose and a bad I block cheater? Seriously? I'll congratulate you once you've played ~100 matches against at least 20 different opponents and you're still at 8000.
