I just played 105 matches against Noah and he beat me 100-5. What's even worse is I won 2 out of the first 6, so that means he won 96 out of the next 99. Ugh. I did try to play faster than usual, resulting in more misdrops than usual, but even the games that I thought I played well I lost. Anyway, what does it take to play so well? Nicholas, I know you've been playing for years, so I'm mainly directing this at you- has your play steadily improved over time? Did you find that your game plateaud at some point, or did you find yourself getting continually better? I've been in this 7300-7400 rut for months and I don't feel like I'm making any progress, which is frustrating.
wow, he pretty much owned you. i don't really know what your weaknesses are (surviving garbage, clearing garbage, accurate placement, fast placement, effecient line clears, tspins, etc), but you should probably compare yourself against noah, and find out where you're lacking. then, concentrate on improving in those areas. other than that, it's all about motivation, effort, and at least ninety minutes of practice everyday (more on the weekends). oh, staying healthy's important too (sleep, eat, normal neurotransmitter levels, etc). remember becoming better doesn't happen over night, etc, etc, etc. as for your other questions, i find i improve in clumps, kind of inconsistently. right now i've been practicing everyday with lockjaw. i bought myself a dpad for the pc, and i've tweaked lj for tds delays. it's fun.
