I found this page the other night, and thought that some of you TGM die-hards would find it interesting. Among other things, it talks about the theoretical amount of time lost in clearing singles and doubles as opposed to triples and tetrises, and the advantages of stacking high in the early stages. What surprises me is that the page dates from August 1999, and considering 777 only broke the 9 minute barrier in recent years, it looks like it's taken him nearly a decade to do so. It just goes to show how much depth and challenge there is in this game :)

I remember a while ago, i had collected stats from various texmaster screenshots around the forum and found a 90% correlation between the number of singles and the total time lost during clear animation in tex normal mode aka tgm1. So yes it matters. On one of his Gm videos, 777 makes only 17 singles...

One day I had 5 singles, but not sub 9...:(

I am sure 0 is possible today in playing slooooowly.
  4. damn, the page is so old my browser doesn't even recognize it as written in japanese lol
(and google translate gives me some totally un-understable text rofl)

    Nice find Edo!

Change the character encoding in your browser to Japanese (Shift_JIS) to display the webpage correctly. Afterwards it will translate correctly. Nice improvement in TAP Master! ^^
