It seems like the uploader that once hosted the necessary files to play Heboris U.E. has returned. I downloaded what seems to be the newest Windows version, hebo0020.zip, but I'm not sure if it's supposed to be placed over an installation of the original Heboris or not (I'm thinking it's a standalone thing, but again I'm not 100% sure). Also, I don't know what the purpose of the three different EXE files is (HeborisDx9, HeborisGL, and HeborisSDL), aside from knowing the first one's filename regards DirectX9. Has anyone else tried these out yet?
You downloaded the C++ version. It's standalone pretty much. As for the different EXEs, it depends on which graphics library you want to use or works best for you.
Couple more things. First off, is there a way to scale up the graphics from 320x240 to 640x480, without having to go into high-resolution mode and slow things down? (aside from going fullscreen, that is) Second, I've noticed that the game takes a long time to load on my system, even this new version. When I played it before, I thought it was because of loading the BGMs I added, but this one takes just as long and I haven't added anything yet. I'd estimate it takes somewhere around 3-5 minutes to load completely. Has anyone else had this happen? Lastly, has anyone figured out what all of those variables in "heboris.ini" do? I've looked over the file a lot of times, but I still haven't found out what all of them do.
I'm not sure what you mean by slow downs since I run it at 640x480. As for the long load times, I noticed it took way longer when I switched to 640x480 on the DX9 version. The others run fine. For the heboris.ini, ask away and I'll see if I can help.
I guess I'll try the other two EXE's before I jump to conclusions about the resolution. As for the variables, here's the ones I'm curious about. The values next to them are their defaults as I saw in the INI file. -shadow_heboris = 1; -limit15 = 1; -enable_randexam = 2; (Its comments seem to note effects from setting it to 0, 1, or 2) -giveup_func = 1; -giveup_safety = 0; -deadtype = 0; (Looks like it's a 0-1 variable)
limit15 = something to do with a 15 minute limit but I haven't explored it enable_randexam = random promotional exams but they don't seem to be working giveup_func = what screen you go back to when you press Q giveup_safety = enable/disable giveup function deadtype = animation of topout
I currently get random promotional exams with enable_randexam = 1 with the final UE. Also, I believe enabling giveup_safety requires the game to be paused (F1 for player 1) in order for the give up key to work. I currently have it disabled, but I'll look into it quick the next time I think to play around with settings and confirm. ~EI
what are the default keys in the dx9 version though? the sdl and gl versions work fine but i can't find any buttons for the dx9 version.
Didn't work.. I literally tried every button on the keyboard, the only button that did anything was M and that took me to the sound test thingie. But I reinstalled it now and it solved the problem. Don't know why it didn't work before.
please please please if any of you are good at this sorta thing at all: port this to PSP! if at all possible. k thx bai.
When you change "SCREEN MODE" of "SETTING" to "LITE", you can play the Heboris C++ port with the big window and compact graphics. (But, it excludes SDL version) Please remove "CONFIG.SAV" or reconfigure the keyboard settings with a gamepad. Keyboard settings of C++ port is not compatible between the DirectX version and other versions.
I don't think any of the publishers with a PSP development license from Sony are willing to defy Tetris Holding to do that. Or is the JigKick battery sold separately?
I cant' download hebo0020.zip it asks for a DLKey. I can install the c8 beta, but it does not seem to work as wel as the version I had before from the TGM essay site. I want to try the C++ ports 3 gfx executables, as the official exe i hae flickers badly on my laptop here.
the DLKey is hebo. and this is the link to the Heboris UE uploader if anyone is wondering: http://hebo.game-host.org/index.html
The intended changes in C8 were to clean up the interface and to make the known values (from TGM and TAP) pinpoint accurate from what I've experienced. It's still a beta so I'd expect things to break here and there. In the meantime, just stick with C7V4.
the main issue is that there's much more flicker with that beta then with the official unofficial YGS version. GL version removes the flicker for me, and gives reasonable performance. LAptop users without ATI cards may have better luck with other versions.
It appears as if version 11+ were removed from the uploader. Can somebody upload the files for c8 to somewhere else?
