The fastest Tetris on the PC

    Hello,

My question is simple -- which tetris implementation is fastest on a PC platform? It will be perfect if there exist any with freely adjustable speed, independent of levels.

I've seen many tetrises but all of them were not challenging (by measure of speed) even on the highest levels after some years of tetris experience. :)

My favorite Tetris is the one which comes with DOS Navigator -- the good old MS-DOS shell. To be precise, currently I'm using NDN -- DN port for win32. Although its speed on a level 10 is not sufficient for me too, I solved this problem by patching NDN executable and reducing delay between the figures moves.

But there is some inconvenience -- I need actually two speeds. First is "regular fast" and other is "challenging fast". The last is used for training, the first is used for general play. So every time I need to switch speeds, I have to repatch delay. One of the planned solutions is to assign these speeds to a several levels in the game with patch to disable level ups after reaching number of lines. But I think the problem can be solved in more elegant way -- by changing my NDN tetris to some another. So I've downloaded some tetrises -- only to find that all of them being simply a crap but with some kewl graphics and effects (especially compared to NDN's 80x25-console tetris) and with stupid sounds... ;(

Sorry for bad English, my native language wildly differs from it and I have very little experience in the conversation with english-speaking people.

  2. Heboris UE

...is faster than Lockjaw. If you want me to go in-depth, I will.

  3. For TGM-like gamelay, I think I'd have to agree with you...

What section have you seen in Lockjaw Rhythm? I suck at the game and can't clear 90.

  5. Dunno, I've been busy trying to clear the beginning of ACE-HELL mode.

  6. Final Mode in Heboris UE is certainly fast.. for the the lack of a better word for it. [IMG]

    Thanks, I'll try 'em.

  8. I don't know which, but I remember one of the DTET modes being insanely fast.
