i've been playing TGM and TAP versus modes with a few of my friends for fun and i love it because it doesn't send random garbage, and it's very very balanced. oh yeah, and DEATH VS in TAP is hillarious. i just saw a flyer for TGM3 TI and it has very interesting thing about VS Mode - "Select Style" - Attack, Defense, and Item - does anyone know and care to explain what each style means? i know VS mode in TGM series is probably the least popular one, but i'm just interested what they did introduce in TI in that area. maybe someone reads japanese and can roughly translate what does that flyer say? During the meeting, we did a lot of versus on TAP, particulary me against colour_thief, but after few battles, we decided to take of the items with the little code (simultaneous start 1p and start 2p during the message "here comes a new challenger"), because this fucking random item disrupts the real balance between the two players in our opinion..

The new enhancement of TI seems to be very interesting :

attack : should means only something happening on the opponent's screen

defence : should means only something happening on your own's screen

random : constant random between attack, defence and item.

    item : ???? [IMG]

  3. Attack means you deal more lines of garbage with doubles or greater.

Defend means you clear lines of garbage as a bonus every time time you clear doubles or greater.

Item means items come more often.

It's been a while since I last played Ti VS so that's as good as I can remember.

  4. I think the Vs modes are great, though sadly the only way I can play other players who are good enough to cope with Death is through a laggy Kaillera server.

  5. I keep hearing about a new Kaillera P2P client or something, maybe that'd work.
