I choose not to read any of the article nor watch any of the Youtube vids. Furthermore I will assume it will be terrible until such time Rotten Tomatoes (or other similar site) gives it a rating of at least "Not Bad"

  2. This will most likely be an abomination.

However, if there was ever a time to bring the competitive scene/player achievements/top-level skill to public view, it MIGHT be with the release of this film. So long as the community figures out how to ride the wave.

    If you can't beat 'em...

  3. Let me summarize then. The videos on that page are fan made. Yes, they are kinda stupid imho. One of them has Tetrominos dropping from the sky destroying a city. The other one, pilots are flying around in Tetrominos ships fighting each other.

I guess a Tetris movie COULD work. Guessing they will go the Indiana Jones/Marvel route. Tetrominos hold some secret key to life. They are buried all around the earth/solar system/galaxy (whatever). A bad guy is trying to gather them to destroy something/mankind. A hero steps forward to thwart the foe, yada, yada, yada.

Date night movie, lots of computer generated special effects. Maybe have Keanu Reeves as the space cowboy/hero. You make a cool mil, Henk Rogers keeps on smilin'.

  4. And Yes have some kind of Tetris competition at the screening would be cool.

  5. Wow! I am genuinely surprised everyone seems to share the same views as me on this one. When I first heard ‘Tetris: The Movie’ I figured it would simply be another documentary of sorts, but when I found out it was going to be a full-length sci-fi flick I almost lost my lunch :sowsuser: Clearly just a cash-in/marketing ploy…very sad indeed.

Just remember boys and girls, by supporting drivel like this you are telling Hollywood you enjoy such trash and they will continue to produce it by the lorryload...
