THQ released some screenshots recently. Luckly, I just recently bought an Xbox360 two days before this game was announced... coincidence? hmm... Anyway, I don't know why I hear so much Xbox hating. So far the system's run very smoothly, and Gears of War looks so damn sexy on HD widescreen. Lumines has been a lot of fun, but I'm still adapting to the gameplay / reverse rotation stuff. GOW is really, really fun, though. I'm loving trash-talking on xbox live again. And you have to agree with me that Xbox's online multiplayer set up blows Wii and PS3 out of the water. Anyhow, about the game. I'm digging the little themed backgrounds. Has a sort of Hawaiian feel to it, which is great (I actually prefer Hawaiian to Russian Tetrisage). Looks far more simplier in presentation than Worlds. Interesting new piece preview setup. (Possible guideline variance? This and Tetris Zone both feature three next pieces.) It has a timer. Let's cross our fingers that the gameplay's good. edit: also found these screenshots. and these.
The graphics remind me of TGM3. I'm certainly loving the presentation. The interchangeable skins look awesome. And is that a 2 or 3 piece preview? I may just have to get a 360 if this game turns out to be good. I can't turn my back to online competition.
Tetris 2002, Blue, Red, Battle, Black, Gold, TNC, TGM3, TGMA, iPod all had three previews so I fail to see why you mention it as if it's something new. There always were varying numbers of previews ranging from 3 to 4 to 6.
yeah, those games too are more evidence towards the possibility that three is now standard. i guess i didn't mention them because i'm not very familiar with them.
I'm pretty sure the "standard" is being revised for every game. Who's to say that the Tetris company won't just decide to change something? Unless they release an actual standard to a standards organization, we should assume that any standard that we attempt to figure out is just the current implementation. Has there been any official Tetris standard documented by the Tetris company?
Mr. Rogers has disclosed that TTC maintains an official guideline for Tetris brand games, revised every year. For instance, the names of the data files from Tetris Worlds state that it implements the 2001 version. kbr420 stated in that Random Generator topic that the guideline is disclosed only to TTC's licensees.
this game looked really nice. people with xbox360s should buy the game. Massmedia are the creators of the game. I got to fly up and play with it. They really took full advantage of the 360's hardware! First Tetris game in HD with 5.1 support! The one thing that I really liked was the fact that pretty much everything is customizable (appearance wise). Loads of variants, and online play are the other good features. As for your Next Queue topic, there is no set number. I don't want you guys to keep pondering about what is regulation and what is not.
Could you describe the variants any? So far I've heard Go Low and Eraser mentioned, but I don't know what those are about. Edit: ah, so Massmedia designed it and THQ produced. That's interesting. I'm really glad I only have to wait less than one month for this. Last time, the like four months waiting for TDS was torture.
There are 8 variants i believe Marathon Ultra Cascade Race Score Go Low Eraser Hotline Each has Multiplayer/Online abilities idk if I have the right to disclose any specifics of the game. But these are the variants
apparently it will be in 1080p, making it the second 360 title (I think) to support that resolution. And online rankings and leader board, and matchmaking. http://www.destructoid.com/tetris-in-hd ... 0015.phtml the guy writing that article is a toss, but its got the press release in it.
whaa look awesome ! i need it ! thanks for for the informations kbr420. ButDo you know if this game is compatible with the japanese xbox 360 ?
Hmm. Anyone remember in the xbox version of Worlds, that dead sexy female porn star voice that would go "tetrisssss" when ever the player tetrised? That better be back. that was so sweet.
