The Playing Forever page on the wiki got linked to on reddit. The subject says everything else you need to know. http://www.reddit.com/r/todayilearned/comments/m19xn/til_there_is_an_algorithm_in_tetris_to_play/ Playing Forever is currently a reference to a prerendered HTML page so the wiki engine doesn't need to render the page each time. In the meantime enjoy the lag.
The worst of the load is behind us but the page still gets hit a few times a minute. I've taken down the static page. There were about 70,000 hits to the static page while it was up (less than 24 hours) and an estimated total of 125,000 people tried to view the page at all; how many actually saw the page before the static version was put up is a different question. At its peak the server was pushing a few megabytes per second of content.
