Hey, pals. It's been a while, but a short time ago I bumped into a little Mac game called Sequoia. In a nutshell, it takes standard (and I believe elementarily implemented) tetris gameplay and alternates between pieces falling from the top, right, bottom, and left. You have to fit pieces together in the center of the screen, and if you exceed a side of the screen or if a piece misses the center pile and falls to the other side, the game's over. You clear 4x4 squares rather than rows. There are levels, and therefore an increase in speed as you play. Its design is very simple and minimal, and I think that's a good thing. Can't reconfigure the keys, though. It's the standard arrow keys, plus Z and X for rotation. If you have a Mac, take a look at it. If you don't, well, it's not the end of the world, and besides, the game's probably been conceived and developed for PC a few times already. The URL is here: http://www.julianmeinold.com/
In Klustar you do not control individual pieces, you can not rotate them, and, after being dropped, parts of pieces do not stick to their position but move towards each other for example.
