That is my record, S7 at 8:52.98. I have never reached level 999 in Master mode, 942 is the highest I've ever made. Also I'm not someone who "can achieve" 400+ in death mode, in fact I've only done that once, there was a short time where I could consistently break 300 but right now I usually only get to around 230-270, probably caused by jumping back and forth between Lockjaw and TAP.
I think his time is also quite respectable. Keep in mind he did not use the 20G code. Anyhow well done kotetsu. Keep at it! It'll feel completely awesome to get the invisible challenge for the first time. (Even the weaker version.)
How does LJ with the following settings fail to mimic TAP? (speed curve = master, max entry delay = 500ms, randomizer = history 6, rotation system = arika, floor kicks = none, lockdown = step reset, lock delay = set by speed curve, clear gravity = naive, sideways speed = 60 Hz, max sideways delay = 250 ms, initial sideways = off, soft drop = 1G lock, hard drop = slide, next piece = 1) Or does your tetlag problem have more to do with switching between Guideline rules (randomizer = bag, rotation system = srs, floor kicks = unlimited, lockdown = move reset, soft drop = 0.5g slide, hard drop = lock, next piece = 6) in LJ and TAP rules in TAP? And how well do you do with "hide playfield blocks" turned on?
It mimics Master mode just fine, but if I want to play TAP then I'd rather have the full experience. Not to mention that that's just too many options to change around if I want to do 0G SRS speedruns (which is almost always why I play LJ) and LJ also doesn't support Normal or TGM+ modes, or variable sideways delay (Death should have this)
Tepples, didn't you have an idea a while ago for a "presets" type option? And kotetsu, you could always make a separate lj.ini and rename it when you wanted to play. A presets system would make this easier though.
Congratz kotetsu!! It's a nice improvement! Don't listen mfm, it's him who is not in the normality, I was at ~420 when I reach S7 my first time, with your level, at this rate, I think you can finish in 9min40 or 9min45.. Keep in your mind the record of Jago : 8min41 with M grad. And good luck for your S8, I've passed approximately, 4 month to pass S7 from S6, 6 month for S8 from S7, and since I've tried to pass S9 for 8 month..
Don't understand all your value but if you think the mimic is not correct, it may also come from the procedural behavior or the LockJaw engine... make me remember about this flash game that "mimic" Death mode, look's like, but not like...
Set entry delay to 500 ms and sideways delay to 250 ms, and Master and Death will decrease the entry delay and sideways delay as needed. I thought README already made this clear. Yes, and thanks to this, it's my first priority for 0.33.
You'll laugh: It's the exact same code! But I highly recommend not using it. That way you'll get "real" times that can be compared with others. With Up to drop pieces instantly it's also much less annoying to play <20G than it was in TGM1. And Death is always there when you have energy to burn. <EDIT> Jago beat me to it. Though I must admit, he used very.... avant garde spelling.
Documentation rule number one: Users do not read READMEs. Corollary: If it needs to be clarified in the README it's not clear enough. Besides, a simulation by someone who's never played the real thing nor is willing to (yes I know about the reasons why and don't care, so please do not mention them again) will never get the details right.
You ignored that?? Amazing.. If you try lot of session with the 20G code, please tell me if you reach some grad like S8-S9..That interest me..And I've no time to try it..My priority is 500..
