It is about time I got around to putting this up, haha. This should be a good one for you deathheads looking to get a little bit more Nintendo in your diet. Pick A-Type, highlight level 9, hold A, press Start. There are no restrictions regarding emulation or input devices, but I'd like to ask that players specify what they've used for the score. Re: [NES] Type-A Level 19 This will be my first entry: Also, my current line record to my knowledge is 88 lines performed on an emulator with a keyboard.
Re: [NES] Type-A Level 19 i think i just might... it goes along with my training anyways! One caveat: There really isnt a way to tell if a player started on level 18 or 19 if they get past 130 lines: my solution would be to suggest an ammendment to this; we should take pictures of the screen just before death and avoid getting aboue 130 lines.
Re: [NES] Type-A Level 19 On TC we generally work with the honour system until someone is suspected of cheating; then proof is requested.
Re: [NES] Type-A Level 19 We are so experimented that we can feel when someone cheat in observing the correlation between his skill, his speed improvement, his knowledge, the gaming behavior (I can detect TAS games in watching only) etc.. FOR EXAMPLE if I had not seen kevin in London playing in live at a few centimeter of me (clearing 2/3 DOOM 1300 in SRS), I would bet today that he cheats.
Re: [NES] Type-A Level 19 Pfft, Amnesia, you're a joker. Kevin's play does not _even_ look TAS'd. Come on, stop makin' excuses.
Re: [NES] Type-A Level 19 I am totally down with the honor system... But the reason I brought that up is'nt about suspicions of invalidity its more about pace... for instance getting 100k or more on level 19 is impressive, but its much more so if you do it in 20 lines. So i dont expect to see pictures per se but if we a agreed to make a note about how many lines we had with the score we post it would be more instructive. then we could compare and copete over who gets both the most score and the most score per line.
Re: [NES] Type-A Level 19 Yeah, that definitely sounds like a good idea. That's similar to what people did when Tetris 1989 came out on Tetris Friends.
Re: [NES] Type-A Level 19 Yeah, line efficiency is a good thing to be able to measure. I just wish the stupid game would stay on that screen so I could nab a shot of it! What a pain, haha.
Re: [NES] Type-A Level 19 If you have a flash camera you can pause at the very last second then take a picture the instant you unpause... it works for me everytime!
Re: [NES] Type-A Level 19 3814 pts/line pace wise... 270,800 at 71 lines... I used an original NES and a T.V. lol
Re: [NES] Type-A Level 19 So I'm going to submit this to this thread as well... although its the EXACT oppisite of what this competition is about i think its a pretty interesting side game... It takes a surprising amout of strategy to get the lowest possible score not that i did... i missed that by 1200 points... enjoy! The technical rules i set for myself were: Level 19. 100 lines. Lowest score possible. Golftris lol full video available for your enjoyment. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oFPk17PqOXA
Re: [NES] Type-A Level 19 ok so I'm a lover of side games... try this one as well. Highest score no lines allowed: 326 points wait until we do do some B-mode side gamage... there will be blood!
Re: [NES] Type-A Level 19 GB version is totally different. DAS timings are totally lame (24 frame start-up, 9 frames between iterations), there are no neat DAS tricks, the well is 18 units tall, the max gravity is 1/3 G, there are only 2 frames of ARE... It basically isn't anywhere as cool as the NES one.
Re: [NES] Type-A Level 19 God I suck at level 19...... Lol. My high score right now is just over 60,000...... Need time to practice......
Re: [NES] Type-A Level 19 Not bad, not bad. I added you to the list. I wish a few more people would make some submissions. I know Kevin already had a higher scoring run than me, but he hasn't posted anything up. :/
Re: [NES] Type-A Level 19 Yeah, when I get some more time to practice I hope to post some higher scores with some screen shots.
