What do ya'll think... super cool looking (to create a new LJ skin with), or way too weird (or confusing) looking to be useful while playing?
would it be possible to make the shade effect on all the pieces similar to the O piece or the vertical I, rather than the two-tone effect on the horizontal I?
I'm afraid not. It's the way that LJ cuts up and connects the connected blocks image ("LJConn.bmp") within the game. The only possible way is using only the regular blocks image ("LJBlocks.bmp"), which would result in standard segmented blocks, like my Blue Ice skin -> http://www.tetrisconcept.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=555 . Hehe, but it may be too artsy to be playable <G>. (Edit) P.S. I'm a musician, but I'm NO artist by any sense of the term... I'm simply a "pixel twiddler" who goes nutz in Paint Shop Pro (with a TON of fancy external graphic plugins) <LOL>!
In each 48x48 pixel O-piece, if you make the center 24x24 pixels "plain", it should cut up the blocks closer to correctly.
Thanks for the info, Tepples - Unfortunately, that makes them look extremely weird (and they totally lose their overall "jewely" look)
Will do - I didn't see your email addy anywhere here in the forums, so email me at richnagel@earthlink.net , and I'll reply to that email with the attachment. Actually, I've about already finished a skin using the existing blocks, but if you have a cool idea for them, 'twould be cool -
P.S. Preview of the upcoming skin -> http://tang.cmoo.com/~snor/weeds/Weeds_ ... n_Skin.jpg P.P.S. The shadows use transparency! -
