How many games did it take before you started getting the hang of the controls? I've only finished 40 Lines twice, and both times they were over 300 seconds.
You can check out his progress in the Typomino & TypingTetromino thread. He also put together a brief summary over here. It certainly isn't easy. I've played about 2 hour so far and still misdrop like crazy. Though kotetsu went from 198 seconds to 84 seconds within 2 days when he started playing Typomino. Btw thanks for the tips in the pm DDRKirby(ISQ).
yeah, the first few days are going to be the hardest, because you'll need to look at where you want to drop the piece, look at the leftmost column, read the letter, look at the keyboard to figure out where that letter is, and then press the corresponding finger. After you get used to it, the actual keys don't matter, you just know which finger corresponds to which position (unless you screw up xD). Trying to focus on one area at a time helps--that way you can take advantage of relative placements. And, when I try to play 40-key mode it's like what you guys are experiencing with 10-key mode x_x.
Something to fatten out the leaderboard. Edit 2010/1/18: Default settings again, time reduced to 174.079
What I always do is copy the contents of the original reply, delete the original reply, and then paste the contents of the original reply into a new reply, adding or editing as necessary. This bumps the thread but prevents double posts.
Ooh, so that's how you do it! I thought there was some special modification that allowed edits to bump threads going on.
What I always do is just post a new post. New records are a totlly legitimate reason to double or even n-tuple post.
I just got a 46.xxx time, but the program quit out when I tried to save a screenshot. GAH. I guess there's no one else to blame but myself x_x
