I am reading the forums for a while now and I am hooked on Tetris. So far I have played Tetra Blocks, Tetris Zone and some tgm. After turning the internet upside down and shaking it a lot tgm2 and tgm2+ fell out, which even run on mame++. However they don't run as you would expect, sound stuttering and slow line-break are disrupting the game experience. DDEmeMame works somewhat too but setting it up is impossible, the UI is in japanese. Is there a way to get the most out of this? I also got Hebrois with the most recent patch, the program is in japanese though and I can't read any of it. No way to set it up this way, is there an english client? I somewhat doubt that but who knows Having the original Arcade cabinet would pretty much be the ultimate thing but I guess an Xbox360 with tgm:ace is a lot cheaper. Too bad the rest of the world is being left out of the tetris pleasure. edit: ok I have understood Hebrois now and it works wonderfully. ONE thing bugs me though, is it possible to mod the Sound? edit2: for_english_users.txt holds all the answers. Doh.
Open heboris.ini and.. Code: // English mode (Hide japanese text in game) // 0=OFF, 1=ON english = 1;
I have no problems running TGM2+ on Mame++ (version 0.11. However, it is notoriously draining on PC resources, so you might want to try closing all background programs while you're running it.
Thanks, after setting the thread priority to 1 the game runs smooth The problem I have with Heboris is this: On the first two you can see that there is a strange shadow on the blocks, no matter what kind of graphic. How can I fix this? The third is obvious, with a setup dialog like that trying to fix anything is hard
Code: disable_giji3D = 0; Change that value to 4 to remove the shadows.. and don't bother with the setup dialog, I think that's a leftover from the original Heboris. All important options are either handled in the .ini file or directly in the game.
Haha, am I the only one that's not bothered by the 3d imitation? And yeah, the setup utility is obsolete once you install the unofficial expansion.
If you're still interested in tgm2, you could try find the special hacked version of mame which removes the background, but supposedly gives a big performance increase. I think it's called ``PsiMAME'' which can be found on the googs.
Yeah, removing the backgrounds would probably give a pretty big boost in performance. Another thing that might help is running it fullscreen, rather than in a window.
