No, this is not the right place to post your message. Go away. No one likes you.

If you want to talk about Tetris, post here. Also, if by "music" you mean Russian classical and folk music, or any other music used in tetromino video games, post here.

Or is the above a typical spambot pattern?

  4. all bots have icq numbers. regular people don't have icq numbers. he's a bot sure enough.

  5. i cant see why he should be a (spam?)-bot. whats the reason you think that? his message does not contain any advertisements, nor dos his profile.... or is it that icq number?? is the strategy that someone adds that icq number to get afterwards loads of spam? man then this is a quite complicated way to deliverf spam [IMG]

The icq number is a hint for sure. But even more obvious, I think we've seen a very similar message before on this forum.

no normal person posts like that. Nobody makes line breaks after every sentence, and most of the people here didn't make an introduction thread. Expecially one that hardly talks about tetris at all...

    Suggestions:

    1. you could make it so you had to accept the people by having it forward you an email. So then you could hopefully weed out some of the bots.

I think they're already doing that cdsboy, my password was changed and I had to get an e-mail sent to me with the new pw.

  10. It is a bot. It makes absolutely no reference to Tetris in the post.

  11. then the question remains:

whats the message this bot is carrying? i cant detect any form of advertisement, nor a link to any webpage etc. i really dont get it.

  12. The last bot that pulled this edited its post after a couple of weeks or so.

  13. I'm fairly sure these aren't bots, guys. I have loads of bot protection. It would be pretty hard for a bot to automatically post a message here. Since I installed a bunch of stuff for bots, I haven't really seen any bots register or post. It's likely these posts are from real people who spam. A lot of forums make it to where you have to post once before you can make another post with any banned words, so that might be what he's doing.

A dead give away he's spam: he says he's a webmaster, yet doesn't supply a webpage: I've disabled putting in your webpage on registration.

  14. herc: if you would be willing to code a unique captcha and tell me how to install it, i'd be willing to.

  15. How is that not a bot?

    Or just shameless advertising.

  16. @caffeine:

    as is shown here:

    extra WIIIIIDE url

the most simple and still extremely effective captcha is just to display a single image in it. this will effectively remove any automated spam bots. and those poor spammers entering manually cant be blocked anyway.

so im willing to help you. all we need to do is add such an image to the user registration page ( easy ) , add another input line where the user must add the column number where to put the piece ( medium) and check in php code after pressing submit, if the number was current (medium).

but to do that, i would need access to your php source code.. how to do? will you give me a temporary ftp-access password? or will you send me these 2 or 3 php files from phpBB?

  17. You could always investigate something called KittenAuth...

  18. already did. the only way i could see to install it was by making a new forum from scratch. i'll pm you later, herc.
