Hello everyone! I just wanted to say hi I guess, seeing as I just joined My name's Alicia and I'm a 3rd year college student at the moment. I have fond memories of elementary, middle, and high school Tetris playing on our PC. I still play Tetris (just finished a game in fact) and was actually wondering if I could bother you folks with a question regarding an older PC version of Tetris I used to play with my family. I don't think it was called anything special, just Tetris if I remember correctly. It was the version we always played at home and I haven't been able to find it since. The block colors and menu options are practically identical to the ones used in crystaloffice ORG's current version (straight piece = red, cube = light blue, Z pieces = blue and green, L pieces = magenta-y and yellow, odd shaped piece = gray). But the version I remember was likely from the mid-to-late-90s. I don't remember it have any BGM, but I guess it may have and we just turned it off.The BG graphics weren't the best... they looked rather like randomly colored textures most of the time. In any case, does anyone know what I'm talking about and per chance have this version of the game? Or does anyone know where I could download it? It was free at the time, I think, but now who knows... Well, thanks for any help you can provide and I look forward to hanging out here more often!
Welcome to the boards. We have a fairly comprehensive list of official tetris games on our wiki, organized by year. You should check that page out here: http://www.tetrisconcept.com/wiki/index.php?title=List_of_games I'd guess that the tetris you played was the microsoft version. Does this picture look right?
Tu es si bon et si gentil c_t.. Good luke lunalutalover ! I am unable to help you..I know maybe 5 or 6 tetris on the 126785 different versions which have been created on PC since 1985.. WELCOME !
I'm thinking that the one that she's refering to is indeed Microsoft Tetris (included with the old "Microsoft Entertainment Pack" for Windows 3.x. The MSEP also included Blackjack, Chip's Challenge, Freecell, Golf, Jezzball, Pipe Dream, Rodent's Revenge, Ski Free, TetraVex, Taipei, TriPeaks, and Tut's Tomb... as well as MS Tetris. Anyhow, the colors for the tets seem to match, MS Tetris had some pretty strange ones. P.S. Another pic (when ran under W311) -> http://tang.cmoo.com/~snor/weeds/Weeds_ ... Tetris.gif
