    Our sexy-Swiss-superstar, PetitPrince has taken it upon himself to host the files. Read his article about TGM: http://bsixcentdouze.free.fr/tc/tgm-en/tgm.html it contains links to the original Heboris and the Unofficial Expansion.

    If by settings, you mean what keys I use, then:

    Rotations = Z,X

    Hold = Left Shift

    Horizontal movement = Left/Right Arrow

    Hard/Firm Drop = Down Arrow

    Soft Drop = Up Arrow

    EDIT:LMAO, Correction, Left Shift, not Right Shift! o_O

  7. I use this:

    [IMG]

    Top row of the grey buttons for CCW, CW, CCW respectively. Then the bottom left grey button for hold (but I usually play without hold to emulate the TAP style).

    What exactly does "hold" mean in the tetris world ? [IMG]

    That controller looks cool btw [IMG]

  9. In short, it allows you to swap your current piece for whatever piece is in the "hold box". As seen in TGM3 (video), Tetris DS and implemented in most other new games.

    Oh thx. I saw a video and I thought it was some extra difficulty, when sometimes an other block than the one expected was coming.

    This explains a lot [IMG]

    I got an other question (don't want to spam this forum with new topics for every noob question i got):

    Are there some certain rules/hints/... on how to build the field? I tried this 20G mode thingy and I encountered a lot of situations where I want to place a block on the sides but simply can't reach it in time.

    My common sense says I need to build some sort of pyramid structure so I can slide the blocks down to the sides. Does this come with experience, or is there any way to practise this ?

  11. It depends on the game.

    Basic protocol is to stack higher in the middle, and higher on the left than on the right, leaving the column for Tetrises down the right hand side. Try not to have too many columns more than 2 blocks deep, as they're require I-pieces to fill, and might cause problems.

    Really, it comes with experience, as your brain starts to learn how better to fit the pieces together. It also helps that if you can't fit a piece somewhere, you either make an overhang that can easily filled by another piece, or make a hole that can be easily uncovered and then filled again.

    It might seem obvious, but try extra-hard not to stack on the columns above holes unless you really need to, as it's just more stuff you'll have to clear to uncover the hole.

    beertje: which rotation system are you using? a pyramid structure is good for survival with any rotation system, but if you're playing with SRS you can stack a little flatter and make more tetrises.

    I dont really get what you mean, I have set T for rotate clockwise and Y for rotate counterclockwise.

    At first I had trouble because I only played tetris years ago on my gameboy so I had only 1 button for rotation, but i'm starting to get the hang of it [IMG].

  14. What game/version of Tetris are you playing? They all have different rotation systems, meaning when you rotate a piece, it'll rotate in a slightly different way.

    You can change which one you're using in the settings in Heboris

    Oh okay I see

    Well the settings is full of japanese text, the only thing I can read is: "Heboris Version 1.60"

    If you have a successful 1.60 installation, you need to install the expansion pack.

    Once you install the expansion pack, the external settings utility becomes obsolete. Rotation system refers not to the keys you use but to the behavior of the tetrominoes. Once you install the expansion, you will be able to choose from a variety of rotation systems in the GUI.

    A couple quick questions about Heboris:

    1) Is it possible to reset the records without having to wipe out the program and reinstall?

    2) I notice I can play a lot faster in Heboris than I can in TAP, even using the same settings. Is this a problem with MAME, or is Heboris just not emulating it closely enough for a fair comparison?

    1. I believe yo press C at the title screen to access a menu where you can reset the records.

    2. Heboris may be inaccurate but it's not enough to enable giant leaps in records. Have you checked to make sure that level bonuses are off?
