Sort of a random post here, but it relates to one of my recent postings(this post) of a game i play called Technic Beat, developed by Arika. I happened to play it earlier today and during the load screen one of the characters from the game, knitty, reports the current date as set on the PS2 machine. After reporting the date on this particular day, November 1, knitty went on to say that this is the "foundation day of Arika." So, 'Happy Birthday' to Arika, thanks for being born.
Oh hey someone else who plays this game! I booted it up to check and you are right, November 1st is "Arika foundation day". So how well can you play this game? I'm good enough to pass all songs... but I still haven't figured out how to unlock the bulldog character. Also apparently you can get qualified grades like "Death Master"... I wonder how that is done as well. There's almost no info on this game in English.
i'm not very good at all. slowly working up to the harder songs, and i've really only used knitty so far, so i'm not familiar yet with other characters' abilities. i bought it on a whim one day for like $5 or $10 at my local gamestore after i noticed that it was an arika game. it's cool how the grading system is similar to TGM and how there's a sudden death mode. i also noticed today that one of the namco games in it, Toy Pop(with a character of Pino, as in pinocchio), is the source for Tepples' current avatar. fun game, in my opinion.
Ah, cool. Keep playing, it's a really fun game that doesn't get enough attention. And by the way there's actually 3 TGM references... TGM in the bottle, Happy happy, and The Absolute, if my memory is correct. We should compare progress or something to keep each other playing. There's tons of little tricks to this game. I haven't even been able to figure out how all the challenges in the challenge mode are possible yet, though I've gotten pretty far. If you get stuck on one let me know and I can share how to do it (if I know). Oh and I've mostly used Knitty as well. There's another girl with I think a blue shirt, brown hair, and headphones that plays quite similarly. You should at least give her a try in case you like her powers more.
oh yeah forgot to mention that i have gone through challenge mode a little bit too. i just unlocked normal level today. one i couldn't figure out is the final easy level challenge on regular-- i think it is a 47-note chain. you have that one?
Yeah, I've got that one. When the song starts to pick up and you get long premade chains, you've got to connect the premade chains together with the larger circles. So, you get a long chain that circles around the dance floor. It gets tricky right before of the 47 markers so you might want to use your special to extend the chain, but it's possible without it.
I'm really starting to appreciate the subtleties of this game. There's a lot to it. I recently 200%'d all of Challenge Mode. I wonder how many other Western players have done that? So few that the unlockables aren't described on GameFAQs, at least.
