I have just mad a switch of OS from Vista to Ubuntu. Not gonna get into the tired old OS bashing stuff. I will just say that my free 90 day subscription to Norton Anti-Virus has run out and I'm not paying for it to be extended. That, and Beryl is easy on the eyes Has anyone tried or had any joy getting Lockjaw to run on Linux. I have tried using WINE(A windows compatibility layer apparently), but I get an error message along the lines of... LOCKJAW fatal error: Could not load datafile lj.dat I'd hate to have to boot into Vista just so I can play LJ. Cheers guys.
I don't know if you ever pop into blockstats chat, but if you do, and I'm awake, I could help you with anything that you're stuck with.
Thanks Lardarse. Not a member of that website. Can't even register at the moment as I'm at work. They have a web washer thing that stops me accessing video games websites. Luckily this one doesn't get blocked
You don't need to be a member to use the IRC applet. And you don't even need to use the applet if you have an IRC client installed on your computer.
I have GAIM. NOt sure what version. It came pre-installed on the Ubuntu Live CD. So far unable to get it to work. Not that I have tried anything to get it to work mind you. It let's me configure my MSN account, but won't let me add a contact or anything. So far I have sorted out the eye candy(Beryl) and phase 2 was to get tetrominoes(Lockjaw) to work.
I don't know if the live CD setup will let you compile things... however, what you could try is a binary that someone else has compiled. If you had that on a USB drive, then you could probably run it from there.
I remember reading somewhere that it doesn't come as standard. I might need to get something from Synaptics. I need to dedicate some time to this on the weekend as I have no idea what I am doing...LOL...better get reading. It's at times like this I miss my Gameboy. It was so much easier. BTW Gnomtris is awful.
