Knowing what spins are possible can definitely save you in a pickle, and makes you look pretty awesome in the process

I've never actually seen anyone do what you did in a NES game, though. Would have been really cool if it were actually helpful in the context

 

Pro Tip : pole vaulting also works with the L and the J, so the triple rotations are also a mlg technique in NES Tetris
